Sikhs Soldiers contributed greatly to WW1 & WW2. One of them was Pte Buckam Singh who was one of the few Sikhs serving in the Canadian Forces at the time. He is the only Sikh to have a Military grave from both the World Wars in North America #LestWeForget

November 11. The most unforgettable day of the year.

Today, we pause to honour those who have served and continue to serve for peace and freedom - at home and around the World.

UPDATE | "The elder man was not defecating in the open. He's clearly wearing pants, not shorts - contrary to the photo that was initially shared. The racism and hate that's been spread about this incident is disappointing and alarming.

Out of respect for the senior citizen involved we are not providing any further comment on this," the owner of the gas station in question, Raj Grewal, tweeted out today sharing a video of the man, appearing to struggle while walking, at the site.

“We have heard feedback from people who went into the gas hut and did not smell any tear gas, for the first time in up to 30 years.”

During a special Sikh Remembrance Day Ceremony today, we honoured Private Buckam Singh, a Canadian Sikh soldier who paid the ultimate sacrifice during WWI. The importance of commemorating those who courageously fought for the freedoms we hold dear remains as crucial as ever.

The annual Sikh Remembrance Day ceremony is approaching.

This is an annual opportunity to celebrate the diversity of sacrifices made for Canada and the Commonwealth and celebrate the diversity of armed military and police services, past and present.

The last Sunday of September each year is Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day. This morning, 13 more names will be added to the Honour Roll. These 13 heroes were fathers, mothers, spouses, partners, sons and daughters — and they leave behind grieving families, friends, colleagues and communities. This follows the devastating loss of RCMP Constable Rick O’Brien on Friday.

We will remember Constables Andrew Hong, Morgan Russell, Devon Northrup, Shaelyn Yang, Grzegorz Pierzchala, Travis Jordan, Brett Ryan, Harvinder S. Dhami, Detective Constable Steven Tourangeau, Sergeants Eric Mueller and Maureen Breau. Honour Roll Inclusion: Customs Inspector James Mowat and RCMP Constable Vernon M. Genaille. #HeroesInLife

The assault on Vimy Ridge began on Easter Monday, April 9, 1917. Four days later, the ridge belonged to Canada. It still does. Of the roughly 100,000 Canadians who served at Vimy, more than 10,600 were casualties, including almost 3,600 who lost their lives. Lest we forget 🙏 🇨🇦

There are no words to describe how sad I am to hear about Ravjot's passing, and it is with a heavy heart that I convey my deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and colleagues.
I'll miss you, my friend 🙏🏼

The WSO account has been withheld in India, alongside Sikh journalists and others.

This comes as censorship of Sikh voices continues amidst draconian suspension of civil rights and democratic norms in Punjab.

Here’s a highlight of our helicopter in action from March of this year. Spoiler alert: These two made the naughty list.

In Case You Missed This!! Last week, Toronto police arrested 23 people for alleged sex crimes against children. 22 of them were released back into public within 48hrs on bail. This is so disheartening & Frustrating 👎🏽👎🏽
