I was 22, in University, and had symptoms for 3 years and they kept blaming anxiety over deadlines. Then when I graduated they changed it to my weight being the problem. I lost 100 pounds and then they started doing tests. 4 years later they diagnosed me.

Instead, they likely shrug it off with a casual ‘it is what it is,’ maybe even laugh, because the truth is heavy, complicated, and they don’t want to burden you with it.
