Just a little reminder from last summer 👇
Rep. Laura Budd (D-Mecklenburg) on the House floor, July 29, 2025:
“Stop thinking that somehow owning a gun and possessing a gun is a God-given right from the US Constitution or the North Carolina Constitution. It’s not. It is not a God-given right.”
Don’t ever let them gaslight you about what they really believe.
2A is not optional.

BREAKING: Court documents say CMPD Officer Seth Elliott looked up an undercover officer's license plate information in Flock and CJ Leads and provided it to the subject of a drug investigation in Watauga County.
Channel 9 has learned an alleged drug dealer was suspicious of a buyer and asked Elliott to run the buyer's plate through the databases. The affidavit says Elliott did so and it came back as an undercover officer and he provided that information to the alleged dealer.
Elliott is on unpaid administrative leave.
When David Michael Simpson was 16, he was arrested and charged with MURDER after shooting and killing a man in an UPTOWN parking garage.
Great job Charlotte!!!!
When Roy Cooper puts criminals before the innocent, North Carolina families pay the price.
One prisoner he released stabbed a woman to death and left her body in a well. 18 were later charged with murder.
Enough is enough.
NORTH CAROLINA-
Did you know the CoChair of the National DSA lives in Wilmington, North Carolina?
He's run for office in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
He's live in is a professor at UNC-WILMINGTON.
WAKE UP NORTH CAROLINA
@MargoinWNC lol, I got a notification that Duke wants me to set my thermostat at 78. Meanwhile I work at a Duke site and the administration building stays set at 72 year round. It’s laughable.
The Duke Energy rate increase proposal originally set for 18 % has now been reduced to 11.6% and may go down to 9.5% over 2 years.
Why did they ask for 18% when they need less than 10%?
GREED. THAT'S WHY.
Imagine telling your boss, “I’m taking a month off, then another month off, then another month off…
Oh, and I still expect my six-figure salary even though I can’t complete the most basic responsibilities of my job.”
You’d be unemployed before lunch.
Congress calls it a calendar.
This is complete bullshit. Why are we allowing this??
Roy Cooper is a fraud.
Cooper has taken nearly $400,000 from health insurance companies and their executives after driving NC health care costs up 57% on his watch.
North Carolinians pay the highest health care costs in the country while Cooper claims he will “take on” his best friends.
NC deserves better. https://t.co/DP8gVvjtx4
Dear Texans,
I hope YOU will ALL join ME in LETTING your BACKSTABBING Governor Abbot KNOW that TEXAS IS NOT FOR SALE TO ISLAMIC TERRORISTS, and that EVERY DOLLAR HE TOOK FROM THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD is an ATTACK ON EVERY CHRISTIAN TEXAN!!
A lot of people have no idea how close the North Carolina General Assembly came to changing our coast forever.
A bill in Raleigh didn't make many headlines before the shrimpers showed up at the North Carolina State Legislative Building. It didn't sound dramatic. To most folks, it probably looked like just another piece of legislation.
But to the families who make their living on the water, it was anything but ordinary.
For a while, it looked like lawmakers were about to deal a devastating blow to an industry that's been part of North Carolina's coastal identity for generations.
That's why I wanted to sit down with Monica Smith.
Monica is a shrimper's wife, the woman who keeps their family business running, and someone who refused to stay quiet while politicians and well-funded special interest groups threatened a way of life that built so many of our fishing communities.
She and a whole lot of hardworking people fought back.
This time, they won.
But here's the thing: this won't be the last fight. If we're not paying attention to what happens in Raleigh, the next bill could slip through before most of us even realize what's at stake.
If heard people talk about "Shrimp Gate" but aren't exactly sure what happened—or why it matters—this episode of Where the Dogwood Blooms connects the dots.
It isn't just about shrimp. It's about how one bill can ripple through families, businesses, and an entire culture.

🚨Breaking: New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill has confirmed that “software error” at the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission improperly registered approximately 6,600 NON-CITIZENS to vote between June 2023 and June 2024, despite these individuals clearly indicating they were NOT U.S. citizens!!!!
Less than 400 reportedly cast ballots, and the BS registrations have since been removed.
While Sherrill is now addressing the issue, this represents a serious failure in basic election safeguards.
Incidents like this erode public trust in our electoral system and highlight why strict citizenship verification, regular voter roll audits, and proof-of-citizenship requirements are non-negotiable.
We cannot afford “glitches” when it comes to the integrity of our elections.
Full transparency and accountability are non-negotiable.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this was an “accident”? 🤨
