@AlextheAdm1ral Ok? And a driver can have a bad q and start back there too. Briscoe started 31st and finished 3rd, Elliott 29th. The trapped in the back half of the field is a myth, it can help a mediocre car improve to start up front (metric) but the fastest drivers will get up front anyway.

@wojakestanford @nascarfanbw23 @jeff_gluck But thats the tire. Again, Shane didnt do anything others doing the same strategy did, Blaney gained with the extra spot despite pitting both times. Saving fuel with this tire just wasnt the play in hindsight, which is great, great tire, but it says more about strategy v/ drive

@wojakestanford @jeff_gluck yes, and McDowell was 5 seconds behind before the stop, because he got stuck behind Allmedinger on the restart. Im not saying, oh, McDowell woulda beat him but Joy said this is the "greatest road course performance in NASCAR history" and thats absurd.
