Making this guy sport writer of the year was a travesty. Every piece he writes is a horrible word soup. @jonathanliew was right there at the same newspaper writing important and insightful columns, and yet they voted for Ronay's incoherent nonsense. Baffling
this is the equivalent of me interviewing for the CEO position of a company and when they ask me why I'll save the business, I tell them I finished all my vegetables once 30 years ago which makes me more than qualified
This argument fails the 'what if it was someone you don't like' test. Instead of defending him, use your influence to persuade him that this looks terrible. And it looks terrible because it is.
The total of hospitality & gifts *declared* by Keir Starmer since 2019 is £12,500 *less* than Boris Johnson accepted from Lord Brownlow for home decor. He tried to keep this *secret* by claiming he couldn't remember who'd paid & had lost the phone containing all relevant messages
@callizda I would run with something like: "I'm well aware of that and super proud of you for your decisions... and it's also why I'll know you'll understand why I've had to say 'no' this time."
An odd conflation.
The glorification of the test detonation in Oppenheimer and the failure to acknowledge where it led is certainly problematic.
It's strange to connect that criticism to Glazer's brilliant study of cognitive dissonance.
Maybe the genre is differentiation?
@Springies As he began to speak, you really think he HAS to acknowledge the brilliant build-up but, no, he's purring about a defender knocking it out for a fucking corner
Could any social media post better demonstrate how the hatred of otherness leaks beyond transphobia to demonise women who do not conform to a narrow notion of womanhood?
Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better? The smirk of a male who’s knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered. #Paris2024
Please do. Because I'mma be right here speaking on synchronized swimming knowing I can't go beyond waist deep in the tub. Mind your business about my Olympic passions, Margaret.
