right after high school my dad sat my family down to watch a documentary about the lives of four trans kids. he didn’t think either of his kids were trans but had recently learned how high the death rate was among them and to my dad there is nothing worse than burying a child. it didn’t make me or my brother trans, it just made us more informed, empathetic, and not fucking assholes to different people.
