@Media__Pundit@HannahPosted There's a weird passage where they say immigration from africa is bad because of the optics of a non-working (i.e. aging) population of white people outsourcing child rearing to africans, which is certainly a unique approach to melanin-based immigration gatekeeping.
@simleo@HannahPosted A cooked preoccupation with longtermism and eugenics. They openly say pronatalism requires low effort parenting because how kids turn out is mostly genes anyway, and they don't heat their house during the winter so they can give more money to Effective Altruism charities.
@XNickDaN@davidfowl It should be.
I feel that for all the people commenting how it's totally clean and readable, the fact that (in this example) [.. x ] is just a convoluted replacement for .ToList() should have come up more.
@JustDiptych There's no second 'e' in camelopard unfortunately, and the camel part isn't original to greek so no idea if the extra e does anything to its semantics.
Speaking of obsolete terms for animals, the greek word for cheetah used to be (drum roll) spotted cat (think catopard).
@JustDiptych@YeOldeAmel@postoctobrist @yakabikaj Which is greek for spotted camel, just like leopard is spotted lion, because why mess with a good naming scheme, and also we should call that lizard thing that changes colors a floor lion (chameleon), even though the word polychromosauros is just sitting there.
@MitchyDelta@BoneJail Originally it was a transhumanist thing: digital immortality via personality upload only works if you believe the self/soul/ego will somehow be shared by you and digital you. And if you believe that, you kind of have to think the same holds for all copies of digi-you.
Ok, time for a longer thread about @IonideProject. Delivering 5.0 is a huge step forward, but also bring some questions about the future. And just to be clear - I haven’t made any decisions or don’t have any silver bullet solutions.

@davidortinau@dotnet I had a great time with Fabulous for F# about a year ago, thought it was a vast improvement over C#/XAML but since had to shift away from mobile. If a x-plat project comes my way again I'm starting with Fabulous, though the wasm adjacent frameworks mentioned here do sound neat.
The privacy paranoid among us have long worried that all of our online photos would be scraped to create a universal face recognition app. My friends, it happened and it’s here: https://t.co/qfv5b27mzg

I have a sci-fi pilot called DOMINION.
After the landing of an alien humanoid race, a traumatized FBI agent struggles to find a way to cure a plague they brought with them before it wipes out mankind.
