@Banfield@spaceranger10s Agreed! I cannot believe I was just called and told that my appt for this afternoon was cancelled. An appt that was made on Monday bc there was no vet available to refill my dog’s seizure meds. Now that appt is cancelled and he’s going to be out of meds! If he seizes it’s on you!
Great discussion of non-curative therapies for sickle cell disease. Ultimately “patients want their disease to be better managed and optimized, and to live a normal life” - Dr. Susan Creary and @DrAmandaBrandow#ash24#sicklecell
.@RepHankJohnson@SenatorWarnock@ossoff please support the inclusion of the Sickle Cell Disease Comprehensive Care Act (H.R. 7432/S. 5097) This bill expands an existing Medicaid program, allowing states to establish a Health Home with sickle cell disease as an eligible condition
Great way to start off a very busy week!
Looking forward to an exciting #ASH24 with the ASH News Daily Team 📰
Thanks again @JoselleCookMD and @sickledocmom for the encouragement to share my creativity with ASH! ✍🏾 🩸 📝
@Uber should be ashamed with these surge prices, taking advantage of all the passengers who have had delayed flights over the past 48 hrs. Some of these passengers have rebooked flights and others slept in the airport. Of course people are going to pay bc they want to be home

When I was a 3rd year medical student, a wise intern on my pediatric rotation corrected a fellow student for using the phrases:
"asthmatic"
"diabetic"
"sickler"
when referring to patients while we were rounding.
He was very passionate about teaching us the right way.
When I asked my patient, “What meds do you take?” she showed me this. She had a ‘current meds’ bundle and a ‘no longer taking’ bundle. She wrote notes like “blood sugar” or “blood pressure" on each card. I asked to share her brilliant idea and she said, ‘absolutely!' #MedTwitter
A non-medical friend recently asked me to describe clinic. I told her to imagine you have 20 meetings in a day, half of them new clients with urgent needs. Each requires your best self. You are late for at least 10 of them. You must prepare a report and deliverables for each one.
