@RonDeSantis This should be pretty obvious. Because their land was claimed to not be part of the United States (In important ways, we still treat them as separate from the US in 2026. It used to be even more muddled).
@avidseries If performance is primarily a function of income, Black people are poorer, and similar incomes go to similar schools, then this is exactly what we would expect.
@avidseries There is a pretty strong argument that this is the best representation of Trump's responsibility that can be fit into a single number.
All numerical representations of complex things have issues.
Your time is better spent attacking the clearly misleading representations.
@Its_a_dryheat@Legal_Fil No. Stealing money for your friends is obviously far worse than implementing rules that you don't like.
It isn't even arguably worse, which is an INCREDIBLY low bar that you just failed to clear.
@grugcapital I doubt this is true.
But it's actually an excellent interview question.
Tons of useful information and it only takes a few seconds of interview time.
Lots of supposedly smart people get these wrong.
@TrisH0x2A I would never do this because I'm old school, but I'm a little surprised to learn that modern compilers don't automatically fix this for you.
Do standard code quality tools at least call this out?
@RanchoVato29419@avidseries Statistic is true. Explanation turns out to be that black women choose black obgyns, but switch to white in emergency situations, premature births, etc.
@ImMeme0 LOL. Bin Laden was killed in the afternoon in the US. Also LOL at the idea that we couldn't execute the mission while Obama was at dinner. Also LOL at the idea that this guy would even be privy to Obama's decision process.
@heygurisingh Unfortunately, that study is already dated.
I'm pretty sympathetic to it's conclusions. But I also acknowledge the significant changes that have happened over the past six months.
@MattisRedacted@NickySimps@umeshgeeta I've researched it several times before your post. Your claim is untrue for anything with majority Republican support.
@MattisRedacted@crit355514 That isn't true. If it were, Republicans would pass the Republican version of gerrymander ban now that they have full control (they'd still get Democratic votes).
@MattisRedacted I'm no Democrat. But it's wrong to expect them to unilaterally not gerrymander when the other side is gerrymandering.
What Is expect from them is gerrymanders that only apply if the other side does it. And that is exactly what we've seen.
@EduIndependence Government is ALREADY paying for almost all K-12 education. Switching some of this to vouchers doesn't change the size of the government subsidy.
@ImBreckWorsham There are a LOT of mistakes that YOU would never forgive.
Many of the people who made those mistakes think this is unfair.
But that's life. When you make a monumental error like this, some people forgive and others don't.
