@canadaposthelps - Makes me cranky: a friend takes the time to use an interesting stamp, even obtains a unique postmark, and yet the stamp is scribbled on anyway. This happens repeatedly. Inexplicable and I rritating!
Grounds surrounding Parliament Buildings, Ottawa. Posted 28 January 1907 to Leamington, Ontario. Valentine & Sons postcard no. 100,584. The round Library of Parliament is in the distance and the original Centre Block, in which Parliament sits, is at left. The latter was lost to fire in 1916 but the Library was saved thanks (the story goes) to the presence of mind of an employee who managed to close the iron fire doors just in the nick of time.
Woke up to the horrific news that five of my colleagues were deliberately targeted and killed. These five young men have been working tirelessly, reporting on our own genocide. They deserve all the recognition and respect for their efforts, yet none of the Western media want to acknowledge that Israel is systematically killing journalists in Gaza. They have killed 201 journalists so far, and our Western colleagues continue to be silent or complicit. Shame on every journalist who isn’t speaking about the systematic killing of Palestinian journalists in Gaza; shame on every one of you.
🇺🇳 The United Nations has voted Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian territories as the Person of the Year..!
Francesca has fought relentlessly for an end to the worst genocide in our modern history.
