This 1838 Tain Academy Dux medal is the oldest in our collection. In 1824, when these awards were first granted, two of the prize winners were George and Gerard Oudkerk whilst their younger sister Eve was “considered above competing” with her classmates.

An obituary recorded in the Calander of Fearn notes the Earl of Huntly's death after a football game in 1576.
