💚2C PEI reps @CFAFCA AGM
@KeishaLRo I’m confident UR on a trajectory that is going to continue to 🆙 the bar. @peifa_ca has a history of sending 🔝quality ppl as reps for our island ag industry.
’Can’t wait 2C what U will achieve b/c I think you’re pretty awesome now. #AgProud
Meeting @s_guilbeault at the Canada Pavillion @COP27P offered a perfect opportunity to emphasize that 🇨🇦farmers are part of the solution& very eager to be at the table helping design actionable deliverables that balance food & climate needs/priorities.Farmers ARE the ag experts.
@Agproudmary Isn’t it amazing how our Govt can’t see that prices are already 140% up from last year on our Diesel fuel? Maybe they could have held back on the carbon tax until our inflation settles down?
After a day of PEI potato farm visits and a productive meeting with the PEI Potato Board directors, we look forward to working with @mcbibeau with a joint commitment for a stronger PEI Potato industry going forward @PEIPotatoes
It's time to start shipping P.E.I. potatoes back to the mainland U.S. If the Americans do move against #PEI potatoes, Canada can then turn to dispute resolution protocols in trade agreements

If PEI fresh potatoes are safe to ship to Puerto Rico today they were also safe in November. This is a start but there's much more to do. My latest column: https://t.co/S8z9Yw5Vgr
@ian_petrie Thank you Ian I wonder will our Fed Govt ever really decide to stand up hard for our farming Families?
It’s hard to accept PEI losing farms when their was never any risk right from November. Some how their has to be accountability for decisions like these.
We need to keep the rest of the story top of mind as we work through this mess. P.E.I. potatoes in the eye of an unfair trade war with U.S. | The Star

The Prince Edward Island Potato Board stands by our growers and the quality of our potatoes. We have hundreds of years of experience growing and selling the highest quality fresh, processing and seed potatoes that feed many millions of people each year.
Here you go @mclaudebibeau and @InspectionCan. You guys are doing wonders for food security in Canada. How many people could this have fed? How many markets lost? How many PEI farms will die because of your so called educated decisions?? Pretty sure my little family farm will…
Held my breath reading a Washington Post story on the potato border fight. It was excellent. Kudos Andrew Smith. And a great Chretien story I'd never heard.

Prince Edward Island is not “infested” with potato wart. Detection of this fungus has been limited to a small number of fields, regulated under the management plan. The grand majority of Island fields have absolutely no connection to potato wart.
