This is the most important report for anyone in cross border payments or remittances.

Looks like another data standard. But is quietly critical. Why?

The last mile of cross border payments is where the cost and complexity is. Local payment systems oftendont support all the data needed for managing fraud or preventing erorrs.

This is why there's so much cost and friction in cross border payments.

As countries like Singapore and India link their local payment systems they're doing so with ISO20022.

FedNow, UPI, Pix and the UK's new payment architecture all support ISO2022. As will efforts by the EU interlinking program.

This means by ~2027 real time cross border payments would be available between GBP, USD, EUR and and India.
