New Canadian personal finance podcast by @wealthy_barber launches TODAY: He made me an offer I couldn’t refuse (to be the first guest). Absolute honour as Dave’s advice over the years has likely made an impact to the tune of many billions of dollars for Canadians. Truly!
I updated my RESP🧑🎓 wiki post a bit early this year, as I’m already having discussions with clients about RESP withdrawals ahead of the upcoming school year. You’ll find a link to the post, which includes a couple of complementary podcasts, below. Executive summary first:
Common investor mistakes:
* Investing outside of risk tolerance
* Paying high fees
* Counting the dividends vs total return
* Lack of geographic diversification (home bias)
* A too-concentrated stock portfolio
* Improper use of account types
* Not maximizing employee plans - free money
* Tax perfection over diversification
* Not matching portfolio to time horizon
* No financial plan
What would you add? @Jason_A_Evans@AaronHectorCFP

Otherwise people risk missing the point of RRSPs in the first place.
