Now that the @pennstatenews press release is out, I’m very pleased to plug this review paper on "landscape transcriptomics", available early online at Molecular Ecology Resources (@molecology).
Thread 🧵(1/16)
I am accepting applications for fully-funded PhD & MSc students (Sept 2025 start)
International applicants welcome to apply!

Every time I moved and transitioned to a new job, this paper got put on the backburner, and then it took awhile to find a journal that saw its potential (thanks @RSocPublishing !), but NEVER GIVE UP! (6/6)
I am so happy to (belatedly) share a paper that came out July 31st that I began just over 10 years ago! https://t.co/iDnSQIHwe6 - With coauthors @HofmannLab and Jenny Boughman (not on Twitter) 🧵 (1/6)
This was my first foray into transcriptomics which has become an important tool for my current lab. It also was the first large grant I ever wrote AND received (thanks @BEACON_Center !) (5/6)
Elated to announce that I’m starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at UT Austin, well today! We'll be recruiting for several positions soon & grad students for 2025. Interested in phenotypic evodevo, me too! https://t.co/mty1imCbA2
My lab at @EEOB_OSU is looking for a postdoc to develop a project on how transgenerational plasticity helps aquatic organisms cope with environmental change! Position is for two years and start date is flexible. Details can be found here: https://t.co/OlvoOeV2nz
Please share!
Super excited this is out. When we exposed males to a fake predator and then WE raised their babies, their sons grew up and adjusted their parenting behavior AS IF THEY had experienced the predator. The same was true of GRANDSONS if BOTH their grandfathers were exposed! 🤯
Excited to share our recent paper with @Jason_Keagy and @AlisonB99479824 demonstrating that F0 experience with predation risk alters paternal care behavior in unexposed F1 sons and F2 grandsons. This shift in care (fanning) in the F1 and F2 generation

⚡️Potential PhD opportunities⚡️If you like any combo of antipredator colouration, collective behaviour, fish, fieldwork in nice places, or robotics, please get in touch for opportunities at my new lab starting @OxfordBiology!🐠🐠🐟🐟https://t.co/zDkAsxm21Y
@jonsweetman and I are recruiting a grad student interested in stream restoration ecology to begin in 2024. See details below, and if you are interested complete this form: https://t.co/J0l8qeU08j. @PSUecosystems@huckinstitutes. Please RT!
Certainly, hybridization has unexpected effects on behavior. But this result also tells us something about the genetic architecture of these traits. Stickleback fish are a rich system to mine for understanding cognitive evolution. (6/7)
