Landlocked or not, a seaport is possible in Southeast

It’s often said that a lie told so many times, if unchallenged, may - in course of time - begin to pass for the truth. One of such terrible lies, institutionally purveyed since the end of the Civil War, is that Southeast or Igboland is landlocked or has no access to the sea, and thus cannot have a seaport.

By this piece, I will debunk this lie with some simple historical and topographical evidence that are even in plain sight. In the Southeast, there are many waterways and little-known slithering tributaries that meandered through Igbo-delta wetlands and ended at the Southeastern waterfronts of the Atlantic.

These rivers and their contiguous tributaries have varying lengths of short navigational paths to the Atlantic, and in some cases, are far shorter nautically (and even on footpath) than the dredged Lagos seaports are to their contact with the Atlantic.

Many of these pathways, including particularly the ones from the outer reaches of Imo and Azumiri Rivers terminate at the Atlantic at no more than 30 Nautical miles to the Atlantic beachhead. Thus, the contiguity of Southeast (not even the greater Igboland lying in the South-South) to the Atlantic is nautically less than the Atlantic is to the seaports in Lagos.

To be sure, Ikwerre land or Igweocha which bears the greater portions of the Portharcourt seaport was dredged up to 50 miles to the Atlantic front through the Bonny River. Onne seaport was dredged up to 60 miles to the Atlantic and Calabar seaport was dredged some 45 nautical miles to the Atlantic and the Lagos seaports were dredged up to about 50 nautical miles to the Atlantic.

Compare all these to Obuaku in Abia State, which is only 25 nautical miles to the Atlantic from the confluence of Imo and Azumiri Rivers, of which Azumiri, on its separate merits, lies not more than 30 nautical miles to the Atlantic beachfront; and so is the little-known Oseakwa (Urashi) in Ihiala (Anambra State).

Additionally, what is geopolitically known as Igboland today is far smaller than what it was and legally supposed to be.

As far back as 1856, Baikie - one of the earliest and credible geographers of ancient Nigeria, had this to say - “Igbo homeland, extends east and west, from the Old Kalabar river to the banks of the Kwora, Niger River, and possesses also some territory at Aboh, an Igbo clan, to the west-ward of the latter stream. On the north it borders on Igara, Igala and A'kpoto, and it is separated from the sea only by petty tribes, all of which trace their origin to this great race" (Baikie, William Balfour, published with a sanction of Her Majesty's Government in 1856).

But with the infamous post-War abandoned property policy and the egregious institutional injustices in boundary adjustments, coupled with the widespread anti-Igbo gerrymandering, Igbos physically lost political hold of their vested ancestral lands, all to the point of not caring anymore about their historical contiguity to the Atlantic Ocean, which Igbo ancestors beheld with their eyes and exclaimed: ‘Oshimiri’ which means: ‘the infinite sea’.

The post-war psychological beat-down and gang-up got so bad and institutional that some of the descendants of these Igbo ancestors (nearest to the Atlantic and now lying outside Southeast) are no longer sure whether they are Igbo or not.

The worst injustice was in 1976 when the Justice Nasir Boundary Adjustment Commission made a serious and targeted agenda of carving out core Igboland territories into some neighboring States of the South-South. But they didn’t quite make an absolute success of it.

They missed the southernmost Southeast lands that possess Rivers that meandered through slices of Igboid South-South territories and ended up at the Atlantic waterfront.

I understand that when I speak or write from the lens of Consciousness, many people are not yet familiar with that silhouette of living. But in time, as their inference skills deepen, they will come around.

As a Transformative Life Coach and an Advocate for Human Consciousness, my simple piece on my ancestral connection to Opobo (by my mother) was never about linguistic debates. It was about reminding people that speaking a distinct language or dialect does not, on its own, erase shared ancestry or historical heritage.

So when people say, “We are not Igbo,” the question cannot be settled by pointing to Standard Igbo and saying, “We don’t speak that.” Language alone is not the measure of origin. The proper inquiry is historical examination.
It must examine ancestry, migration patterns, language classification, oral traditions, kinship systems, cultural institutions, and documentary evidence.

And this is why, when Mazi Nnamdi Kanu kept hammering about the two‑piece wrapper our women traditionally tie, some people mocked it. They laughed because they do not understand that dress patterns are cultural archives. Clothing carries memory. It carries migration. It carries identity.
You cannot claim to be separate from a people while wearing their history on your skin

Contemporary self‑identification matters, but it is not the same as historical origin. That distinction - “Who are you today?” versus “Where did your people historically come from?” - is precisely where my piece was focused.

So when someone insists they are not Igbo, I simply ask:
1). Who is Igbo?
2). What does being Igbo mean to you?
3). Where are your ancestors from?
By the time you answer the third question, you may finally understand why you say you are not Igbo.

I will leave this here for now. But remember, the colonial 'Othering' of the 'Igbos' engineered by Britain and carried forward by their local proxies was designed to chip away at every essence of who we are.
This conversation is not about “Igbo‑speaking Igbos.” It is about all of you who carry Igbo ancestry, whether you acknowledge it or not. Take it or leave it.

I just randomly remembered something.

Sometime ago, the U.S. mounted pressure on Nigeria to step up action against terror!sm financing as part of deeper security cooperation.

Eventually, the Nigerian government under President Tinubu released a sanctions list containing 48 individuals and 12 entities allegedly linked to terror!sm financing.

But you know the funniest thing?

I went through that list, and apart from names like Tukur Mamu, Simon Ekpa, IPOB, Ansaru and ISWAP, the overwhelming majority of the names don't ring a bell to the average Nigerian.

Lol.

Maybe that is exactly how terror!sm financing works. Maybe through people who operate quietly behind the scenes.

But it also leaves you wondering.

In a country where governors have claimed they know where band!ts operate, where clerics have said authorities know many of them by name, and where communities constantly complain about sponsors walking freely, you would expect at least some names on such a list to shock the nation.

Instead, most Nigerians looked at it and asked, "Who are these people?"

Nigeria has always remained the more you look, the less you see when it comes to security.

Why Ndigbo Indigenous to the South east, South south and North central Must Be Included in the Proposed Igbo Region.

The proposed Igbo region should not be defined only by today's political boundaries. Ndigbo indigenous to the South east, South south and North central should be included because their history, identity, language, culture and longstanding relationships connect them to the wider Igbo nation.

Shared Indigenous Identity: Being Igbo is rooted in ancestry, language, culture and historical identity, not simply in the state where a community is currently located.

Historical Continuity: Many present state boundaries were created through successive administrative arrangements. They should not erase or override the historical connections among indigenous Igbo communities.

Common Language and Culture: Igbo communities across these areas share related languages and dialects, customs, traditions, festivals, names, traditional institutions and social values.

Existing Social and Economic Connections: Family ties, marriages, trade, markets, education, agriculture and other economic activities have long connected these communities with one another.

Cultural Preservation: Bringing indigenous Igbo communities into a common regional framework can strengthen the preservation of Igbo languages, dialects, history, literature and cultural heritage.

Political and Economic Development: A united regional structure can provide a stronger platform for coordinated infrastructure, investment, education, transportation, agriculture, industry and economic development.

Justice and Representation: Indigenous Igbo communities should not be denied regional representation merely because political boundaries place them outside the conventional South east.
The Right to Choose: Ultimately, affected communities should be properly consulted and allowed to determine their preference through a democratic and constitutional process.

The proposed Igbo region should reflect the people and their historical connections, not merely lines drawn on a map. Ndigbo indigenous to the South east, South south and North central should therefore have their history, identity and aspirations recognized and their right to participate in the proposed regional government protected.

An administrative boundary should not be stronger than the identity, history and will of the people it separates.
All Igbo communities in Nigeria should be in Igbo region.

Entitled agbero almajiri Tinubu lagos legacy has now gone global.

Entitled agbero almajiri network in lagos state. They are now going after and stoping any flashy car on the road, well dressed individuals, celebrities, honest and hardworking Nigerians to obtain money by force though begging. While avoiding APC politicians who stole their commonwealth in Lagos.

They operate in different groups. Some track, trace and locate vulnerable preys, innocent victims to their estates where they reside, offices, businesses, even outings and churches. Calling other members on phone to hurry down to any location whenever they see a formidable target. Some go to clubs, hotels, bars, even studios to track down easy targets.
Actors, comedians, musicians, footballers, socialites, hardworking and honest living Nigerians who have never benefited from Tinubu's lagos are now living in fear in lagos state. They don't go out anymore because of entitled agbero almajiries.

This is the handiwork of Tinubu, who turned lagos into the den of agberos since 1999 with NURTW as their main recruiters for political reasons.

If nothing is done to checkmate these avalanche of entitled agbero almajiries and their begging network, very soon they will start daybreak robberies with guns in the name of begging. They will start holding innocent people to ransom until huge sums of monies is paid to them.
Sadly, they are very conversant with the daily routines, movements and locations of celebrities, even knowing them to their houses and estates in Lagos state, their studios and their business locations like ABC.
Very soon they will act as informants to their other members who will eventually end up as kidnappers.

Mr. Jesutega Onakpasa boasted on national television that they made Tinubu President and that, in 2027, they would do everything possible to remove him as well.

He died exactly 621 days before the 2027 presidential election.

Senator Mpigi was probably warming up to purchase another form to return to the Senate, but death had other plans.

He died exactly 366 days before the presidential election, even before INEC released the primary election guidelines.

Ifeanyi Uba had prepared very well ahead of the Anambra governorship election. He believed he could defeat Charles Soludo, but unfortunately, he died 470 days before the 2025 Anambra governorship election.

Chief Onu contested the presidential primary ahead of the 2023 election. He believed he could rule this nation, but that became the last election he ever witnessed, as he died 411 days after it.

Doyin Okupe mocked Peter Obi and proudly spoke about realigning with President Tinubu ahead of 2027. He died 715 days before the election.

Dan Orbih must have sworn that, as long as they remained in the PDP, the party would never produce a presidential candidate ahead of 2027. Now, he is no more.

The list is just endless.

The point is this: whatever you do, never forget that you are just a mortal with a borrowed breath that could leave your lungs at any moment.

Most times, it comes on a day you never prepared for and never wished for.

Nigerians, if Tinubu nominates any credible person today 2nd of September 2026 as a replacement for Reno omokri, Mexico will accept that individual before 7th of September in their country. But not Rono omokri. He is rejected, and stands rejected.

Meanwhile Tinubu can appoint him as Nigeria's online twitter Ambassador, aka head of AsoRocks twitter data boys. Because currently that is the only role he is playing as a canary. Amongst all
Tinubu's Ambassadorial nominees, it is only Reno Omokri that is still active 24/7 on twitter doing the work meant for Kano pillar's Bashir Ahmaad.

The number of times the canary mentions Peter Obi in a month on twitter, will determine the alert he will recieve in the month as a jobless Ambassador.

Are Nigerians really that dull?

I just read how these guy, used his company TMT, travel and tour, to reportedly scam Nigerians of over N200 million.

He posed as a travel agency, and Nigerians paid millions to him to get them visa and prepare their travel documents.

But, the concern here is, why should a grown ass human pay another person to prepare travel documents for them?

What's so difficult in getting your travel documents and visa by yourself? Must we outsource everything? Or some of us are just too lazy and dumb?

Something you can easily run by yourself with guidelines from chat gpt, YouTube or Google.

All the information you need is out there, easily accessible and readily implementable.

It just breaks my heart that Nigerians are still falling victim of these shallow scams in big 2026.
