Laxmi Agarwal is back in the spotlight, blaming the Modi government for crimes against women in India.

Here are the facts she conveniently forgets:

• She was acid-attacked in 2005, when the Congress party was in power both at the Centre and in Rajasthan.

• Her attacker was Naeem Khan, who tried to force her into marriage when she was just 15. When she refused, he threw acid on her face.

• Today, she is in a live-in relationship with Sajid Malik Siddiqui. The couple regularly collaborates on content and podcasts.

• The 2020 film Chhapaak, based on her life, conveniently changed her attacker’s name from Naeem Khan to a Hindu character named “Rajesh”.

• Produced by Deepika Padukone and directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie was heavily promoted with Deepika visiting JNU to express solidarity with leftist groups. It ended up flopping badly.

Now, Laxmi claims:

• She feels ashamed to call herself Indian.

• Humanity is dead in India.

• Modi is ignoring atrocities against women while enjoying foreign trips (like with Meloni).

• Indians should be ashamed for voting BJP to power, as the party “supports rapists” and is responsible for Gen Z suicides.

Yet, back in 2005, when she was actually attacked under Congress rule, she felt proud to be Indian. She had no shame for Manmohan Singh’s government then.

Interestingly, she insists, “I have nothing to do with politics.”

The moment she mentioned receiving an award from the Obamas abroad, the pattern became clear. This looks like a classic case of being recruited to spread negativity against India and the current government.

I once saw her purely as a tragic victim of Love Jihad. Not anymore. She was woke then, and she remains woke now.

Such selective outrage and distorted narratives from people like her risk pushing large sections of Hindu society to stop caring altogether. Those who cannot distinguish between who is targeting them and who is trying to protect them have chosen their path.
