@CanYouFelixTCG@ShroomUnleashed The true going second winrate was 25%. How they got down to 2% was by excluding bricks, games where the going 1st player was handtrapped into having no plays (non-game), and excluding the games where sky striker went first because that's the one fair deck we arent criticizing.
@ShroomUnleashed I played as close to this list as I could on master duel yesterday and it's a lot of fun. The light and dark end dragons help to give this deck a little more ceiling, which I think it needed.
@atrocityTCG "Man, I wish I could go back to before I got in a car accident and broke my leg."
"Erm, no you don't. Remember last week when you stubbed your toe and were complaining about it?"
@atrocityTCG And just to be clear, those are the best decks in the room. Even the ROLAD Branded deck feels impossible to overcome their follow up, giving them a huge advantage going first. JUSH you could win almost any matchup going second and had the opportunity to outplay your opponent.
@atrocityTCG Because just about every deck is toxic going first??? It's much better when it's only one matchup that feels impossible to go second. You complain and ask for a hit, then move on. Now we have KT, Elfnote, and 60 card slop piles that make you auto lose when you lose the coin flip.
@LumenMars@TheTrinketMage Woah, calm down dude. The ratio of non-engine is not indictive of how healthy going first is. In fact, there are a lot of decks in the TCG, like branded rolad that play low non-engine counts. What matters is how well that non-engine works. The issue right now is that it doesn't.
@PanTheKatTTV I always like the advice of try to build your deck in a way that the combo resolves as much as possible through interruptions, but has a low enough ceiling that you still have to work for wins going first. If you cut bricks to get there, you'll have more room for going 2nd cards.
@yagireburon@TheSiopaoMan@FarfaYGO Their level 10 synchro also prevents interaction in the battle phase. That being said, we've been talking about full power Tenpai this whole time. Taking away the field spell is not full power Tenpai and would make the deck boarder line unusable into handtraps.
@LumenMars@TheTrinketMage I mean, needing non-engine is fine though. Most meta decks do too. It seems you are talking about playing non-meta into meta. All 1v1 games have metas and that's fine.
Also, the decks you listed are meta in master duel and this whole thread has been about local events.
@LumenMars@TheTrinketMage It is really deck/matchup dependent ngl. A majority of the decks that people play at lower levels can be countered by a good going second plan. Im sure if you have 2 low level players that are just expecting to go first, then it will be coin flip reliant though.
@Zarcthedarkking If you think handtraps are unbalanced(they're not), the response should be to hit those handtraps, not have an out to them at 1 while going first. Going first does not need to be any stronger than it already is, this was a phenomenal hit and a skill check for the playerbase.
