A thread about the Taliban & sharia law. Everyone knows the Taliban run a brutal and oppressive legal system. But there are different ways a legal system can be bad and understanding how the Taliban's is bad, and how it isn't, is crucial for understanding their enduring appeal 1/
So to frame Dr. Klompas, as an ID expert that is opposed to Aerosol Transmission in August 2021, is frankly egregious. If the @Telegraph and @sarahknapton want to have even a shred of credibility going forward, they should probably update this article.

Boris Johnson says his comments labelling black Africans as “piccanninnies” with “watermelon smiles” have been "taken out of context."
Here’s what he wrote. #PMQs
“Moral emptiness and epidemiological stupidity”, is the absolutely correct assessment of @DrMikeRyan of @WHO in answer to a question from the BBC’s @naomigrimley about the UK Gov’s policy that it’s better to have more people catch #COVID19 virus sooner rather than later.
Today the Government is presenting the Electoral Integrity Bill to the House. This Bill will contain provisions for Voter ID. Voter ID will potentially disenfranchise thousands of people. It is an illogical and illiberal solution to a non-existent problem
1. Was on @BBCNews earlier & was quite shocked to be interrupted by presenter trying to dismiss long covid as if we didn't yet know that is it common with large health burden.

Here's my challenge to the people attacking #Seaspiracy:
Please name the significant scientific mistakes it makes.
I don't mean
"I don't like the style or tone."
"I don't like this analogy or that conclusion."
I mean actual, significant scientific mistakes.
Thank you.

I am asked repeatedly at the moment, has anything surprised you about what has happened post-Brexit. And sorry but the answer is no. This is the global norm outside of the EU. The Brexit partisan cottage industry of denial cannot obscure it now. Bit late though.
The Daubeney area of Hackney, East London was made glyphosate-free a year ago. In this single street, I counted 62 plant species of 26 families. 75% of British insects feed on a *single* plant family. Just imagine how much wildlife a street like this can support... #MoreThanWeeds
This is an interesting plant on many grounds🌱In Latin, "urbanum" means "city", possibly because it was frequently found near houses. It's also a very important medicinal herb, so much so that it became known as "Herb Bennet", the "sacred herb"!
@CarolineLucas@GreenerUK_@ruthchambers@WCL_News Utterly unacceptable that they've delayed this.
And at the same time they have just approved the first coal mine in 30 years 🙃

My opening statement in debate on #EnvironmentBill - which Ministers are shamefully delaying still further

One of my greatest sources of hope lies in the huge potential of rewilding and restoring nature. This, together with climate equity and stop burning fossil fuels, is the key towards a sustainable world. #FaceTheClimateEmergency
