When China builds infrastructure in Africa, Western governments call it a "debt trap."

When the IMF lent money to African governments under structural adjustment conditions that required selling off public utilities, cutting healthcare spending, and opening markets to foreign competition that destroyed domestic industry?

That was called "development assistance."

The "debt trap" accusation is often exaggerated and selectively applied. Chinese lending, like all international financing, should be examined case by case, and the terms of individual projects should remain open to scrutiny. That is a fair conversation to have.

But that conversation cannot be had honestly without acknowledging that the West has been running debt-based leverage over developing nations for roughly eighty years, through institutions it controls, using conditions it designed, producing outcomes that consistently benefited Western capital while leaving the borrowing nations more structurally dependent than before they borrowed.

The sudden Western concern about African sovereignty when Chinese money enters the picture is not concern for African sovereignty.

African sovereignty has never been a Western priority.

The concern is about competition.

About someone else getting access to the resources and the relationships and the political leverage that Western institutions have treated as their exclusive inheritance since decolonization produced independent governments that still needed external capital.

Concern for Africa.

From the people who designed structural adjustment.

The audacity of it should be theatrical. Instead it is just policy.

El 3 de julio de 1962, se proclamaba la independencia de Argelia, el imperialismo francés era derrotado, tras perpetrar una brutal guerra de exterminio colonial contra el honorable pueblo argelino.

Más de 5 millones de argelinos murieron a manos de los colonialistas franceses en apenas un cuarto de siglo, las torturas y los asesinatos contra los miembros de la resistencia argelina fueron brutales.

Los soldados coloniales franceses arrasaron pueblos enteros mientras capturaban y torturaban a todo el que se resistía, con brutales formas como la electrocución, además de usar los pozos de agua como prisiones, lanzar a los argelinos desde helicópteros con piedras atadas a los pies y decapitar sus cabezas para luego coleccionarlas.

La mayor masacre colonial francesa en un solo dia en Argelia, irónicamente se dio mientras Francia celebraba su liberación del nazismo, el 8 de mayo de 1945, cuando cientos de miles de argelinos salieron a las calles a pedir independencia, el ejército francés los acribilló a balazos matando al menos a 45.000 civiles.

Otro de los crímenes poco conocidos del colonialismo francés en Argelia, es cuando usó al pais más de 57 veces como campo de pruebas nucleares entre 1960 y 1966, los experimentos nucleares fueron 4 veces mayor al bombardeo de Hiroshima en Japón.

Los experimentos nucleares franceses mataron a más de 42.000 argelinos e hirieron a miles más debido a la radiactividad nuclear, que más de 60 años después siguen visibles sus secuelas, provocando una gran contaminación radiactiva de la tierra y el aire.

El Frente de Liberación Nacional argelino logró la claudicación del colonialismo francés en una de las guerras de liberación nacional más crueles de la descolonización africana, aunque tras 132 años de opresión imperialista, finalmente el pueblo argelino logró la expulsión de alrededor de un millón de colonos europeos originarios de Francia, Italia o España.

Francia nunca reconoció sus crímenes en Argelia y tardó décadas en ni siquiera reconocer el término "guerra" contra Argelia.

La guerra de liberación nacional que hoy se da en Palestina debe acabar igual, los colonos deben volver a Europa y se debe terminar con el apartheid racista.

A Congolese national refugee, by the name of Thierry Nima, is fighting for his life after he was violently attacked and stabbed outside his home in the South Beach area of Durban, South Africa.

The incident occurred yesterday, amid a wave of Afrophobic tensions in the region.

The attackers (March and March Thugs) ambushed him, reportedly identified themselves as Zulus and explicitly ordered him to leave South Africa immediately, then stabbed him in the neck before fleeing the scene.

Current Medical Status: Nima sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently hospitalised in a coma at Addington Hospital in Durban. He is a father to a young family.
