@laurieontech Someplace just don't care about candidates. Others, unfortunately, it comes down to the sheer volume of candidates (esp for entry level positions) and they just can't deal with it.

@joeyrobinsondev @realHardyStocks @donnacamos88 I feel it's still more valuable emphasizing paid exp over personal projects, if you have such paid work. B/c in general, recruiters still value that. But, some orgs are less caring, when you apply to those, u can mix it to top up your 'years of exp'.

@joeyrobinsondev @realHardyStocks @donnacamos88 So if you aren't careful, some consider it deceiving that someone is passing 'fun personal projects' as paid work. To me, it's not about if others agree/disagree, but the strategies to maximize your chances of getting a job. Different places value different things.

@joeyrobinsondev @realHardyStocks @donnacamos88 yeah I did, I think that's the point tho. It wasn't clear if that was past work exp or personal projects. Maybe it was just the "past projects" heading that threw me of. Many ppl put that as their description for 'personal unpaid projects"
