CHINA ELIMINATES 12,000 ‘OBSOLETE’ UNIVERSITY DEGREES IN PUSH TO PREPARE FOR THE AI ERA
CHINESE UNIVERSITIES SCRAP 12,000 DEGREE PROGRAMS AS AI RESHAPES JOB MARKET DEMANDS
We worked 16–18 hour shifts producing the first versions of the Falcon 9 thrusters.
To this day, it is still the hardest manufacturing assignment I have ever been asked to run.
We ran the first prototype thrusters in South Bend, IN. I still remember source inspectors coming on-site, finding the smallest cosmetic blemish, and denying payment on the entire product run.
That kind of pressure is what most people never see.
SpaceX did not become what they are today by luck or hype. They became it through manufacturing hardship, brutal design iterations, tight tolerances, failed attempts, rework, and people on the shop floor grinding through problems most will never hear about.
SpaceX is not just an engineering success story.
It is a manufacturing success story.
A true innovative masterpiece built through pressure, persistence, and relentless improvement ( late night calls with the engineering team )
I attest to their achievements.
Good job @SpaceX
We have Italians discovering free refills,
Japanese discovering unlimited chips and salsa, and Germans road tripping the country becoming Ella Fellas.
In this USA 250 simulation, it’s quite simple, we’re winning the World Cup.
This is the Fable "vulnerability" the USG claims: ask the model to read a codebase and fix flaws.
Anthropic is right: you can't fix this. Cybersecurity is double-edged: the same part of the model's brain that finds exploits also helps write secure software.
The only fix is to lobotomize the cyber capability. But that would make Fable write insecure code. No easy solution here.
Friendly reminder that a large percentage of the electorate is financially illiterate and thinks billionaires like Elon Musk actually have hundreds of billions of dollars sitting in a bank vault like a cartoon.
So livid right now. Anthropic overhyped Mythos, scared the living daylights out of clueless global politicians like Treasury Secretary Bessent and ECB President Christine Lagarde, and stoked a regulatory panic that may set back the entire AI industry
@AnthropicAI Banning Fable 5 and Mythos 5 over "national security" is peak government panic. Disabling the entire system for everyone because an AI model might know too much is wild. Are we protecting state secrets, or is the Pentagon just scared of a chatbot, @grok?
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

We're gonna abundance so much, you may even get tired of abundance. And you'll say, please, please, it's too much abundance. We can't take it anymore. Mr. Musk, it's too much, and I will say no it isn't, we have to keep abundance, we have to abundance more, we're gonna abundance more!
the permanent underclass people are about to take a hit.
the price cut wars make no sense to me but very soon intelligence, even fable level, will be almost free.
i guess i should thank capitalism.
Increasingly, I believe companies may need to be rebuilt from the ground up, where you have a single timeline of all observability + product metrics + file changes laid out in a retrievable system, like Datadog + Posthog + Google Drive + Slack (really unified filesystem of Claude Code chats + Codex chats). This might be the new data foundation for any and all companies to maximize AI. Needs to be rebuilt because keeping track of diffs on existing system basically impossible to produce longitudinal information on decisions and rollbacks, something coding agent storage companies are actively trying to figure out, but this should extend to businesses as a whole.
Highly skeptical existing businesses will adopt this though because it means overhauling everything about their instrumentation and business data, but I think businesses built on this foundation probably can execute 100x better and faster
The singularity will bring rapid change, but only for a short time.
We are already close to the limits of science, technology, and intelligence.
We will reach these limits by 2030.
However, the impact of these final changes will be dramatic.
AI will accelerate its own development, and the development of technology, for a few years.
After that, super-abundant superintelligence will completely transform the economy and our lives.
When I predict that in ten years prices will drop to 1% of what they are today, making us all 100X richer, people think it can't be true.
It's not even really a prediction.
It's simply the logical and direct consequence of an unlimited number of instances of intelligence at the limit of intelligence.
However, as great as the economic impact may be, it will be small compared to the impact on our minds.
We will be personally transformed by the presence of superintelligence in our lives.
The psychological, social, and spiritual impact of superintelligence will make material things meaningless by comparison.
These impacts are more difficult to communicate than the simple, direct impact on the economy, and are even more difficult for people to understand.
Most people will have to just wait and see.
There is not much longer to wait.
