@americaneedshim@realChadGPT@ranghad_ @Morbidful If I’m not mistaken he killed the wife first and then one of the two little girls walked in on the mom dead while he was cleaning up — so I think he figured in a sense they were witnesses and would say “daddy did something to mommy”
@RachelWong15331@RutgersAltRoute Yep understandable!
I’d suggest still giving that positive aspect and then just adding that if they’d like review where they went wrong during your office hours you’d be happy to or guide them to a classmate that you know understands it well
@RutgersAltRoute A5: The biggest challenge and may be unique to me - but being at private special education school with 1:1 aides for each student (I have 11 students). It is incredibly hard to keep all of my staff on the same page at all times with a growth mindset #GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@angelnh84@RutgersAltRoute Exactly! They should really know and feel that you are there to support them and help them grow -- not there to just magnify their mistakes
@RutgersAltRoute Constructive feedback: "You made a mistake in your calculation, but I appreciate your effort. Let's go through the steps together to see where the error occurred." (2/2)
#GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute I believe it's highly valuable to give both positive AND constructive feedback to your students consistently;
Positive feedback: "I can see that you worked hard to solve that problem. Your persistence paid off!" (1/2)
#GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3: There are many different ways to cultivate a growth mindset but I like to do it by encouraging risk-taking and learning from mistakes, emphasize effort and process, provide specific and constructive feedback, set high expectations and provide support
#GrowthMindset#TeachEd
For Q2, consider the expectations you communicate to students (verbal and nonverbal) through your classroom climate, course material & response opportunities #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
Tip: Be specific to your content & connect with others using a # like #ArtsEd#litchat#scichat
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Teachers should and can model positivity & respect for themselves and others in the classroom-- this will help set the tone of the classroom of inclusivity and students will definitely begin to feel more comfortable & conform to the class culture #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
Teachers have the power to influence the mindset of students.
As you answer #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset Question 1, consider your own experience, readings, and what Carol Dweck refers to as the power of “yet” (https://t.co/rXHLTgTfwy)
@RutgersAltRoute be stagnant! You will have to first adjust and work on the student's mindset before you can manage to tackle the academic hurdles & struggles (the student has to want to succeed for themselves) #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A1: Mindset inherently presents a lot of challenges and opportunities for learning and development because default it plays a huge role in a student's motivation and attitude towards academics -- therefore if the mindset is offkey then learning will 1/2 #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
