In 2015, Australia had established an additional intake of 12,000 humanitarian visas for Syrians & Iraqis, which resulted in 46,000 Syrian & Iraqi refugees being resettled in Australia over five years (July 2015 to June 2020).

A similar scheme can be established for Afghanistan.
