Index Coverage update: I have noticed this a lot over the past several months. Sites seeing categories of "Not indexed" urls drop heavily, which look like they were routed to "Crawled, not indexed". So it's like the categories flipped...
I have seen that across a number of sites I have audited recently. For example, see 'alt page with proper canonical' drop, 'redirects' drop, etc., and CNI surges like mad at the exact same time. Just an interesting observation. :)
@DHLPaket, I’ve been trying to reach customer support since Jan but haven’t been able to get help due to language barriers. Could you please share the correct customer service email IDs for assistance in English? I'd appreciate your help in resolving my shipment issue. Thank you!

Site hit by the December spam update. Quickly checking it out, I'm seeing scaled content abuse with heavy AI content. It definitely dropped a bit (see below), but not as much as you would think... And if you are going to scale, maybe keep it under 5M urls. 🤣
.@screamingfrog API integration with LLMs like ChatGPT is a game changer to take initial SEO action and accelerate whether completely manual or far worse automated output. A great example of this in an International SEO process is the translation of title tags, meta descriptions and H1s directly within the SF UI. Should you use the output directly in your site? Of course not, however, this allows to simplify the process with native translators to who you can already send this output to validate, edit and correct while taking into account the targeted queries in each case. I'll be sharing many more use cases in the next weeks, stay tuned! 👀 and subscribe to the SEOFOMO Newsletter to avoid missing out: https://t.co/Dxleipf8tb

This HCU site officially just hit higher traffic levels than it did before the Sept 23 HCU.
So this is quite rare, but possible. Both recent core updates together greatly benefitted the site.
Yes, the site worked hard on recovery - "scorched earth," as they called it.
An absolutely excellent post by @glenngabe providing us a ton of examples from various sorces related to Google's site-wide signals and classifiers impacting rankings.
If you were surprised by Pandu Nayak's comments about page-level versus site-level impact, you weren't alone. I've been working on this post since that came out. I hope you enjoy it :) -> Documenting Google’s site-level evaluation and impact on search rankings using the ‘Gabeback Machine’ [Googler Quotes, Videos, Documentation and more]
In my post I cover many, many Google quotes, videos, tweets, and Google's own documentation about site-level impact. Like I said in the post, it's not like every url on a site became low quality overnight. There's a site-level adjustment that can drag down, or boost up, rankings across a site.
I first cover major algorithm updates with site-level impact like Panda, Penguin, Pirate, and the HCU. And then I cover Google's quotes, videos, and documentation about broad core updates (which also have site-level impact). Note, this is a huge post. Take your time with it. There's a lot to review. https://t.co/gC3hLDABWO

This is just blowing my mind. Even if you don't work in the education/university category, I'd recommend taking a look at this.
Check out how much the Google SERP has changed year-over-year for the query "best universities in the US" (@ahrefs data):
- last year, the official .edu sites for universities didn't start appearing on the list until position 28 (University of Central Florida)
- this year, almost every single result after position 9 is an official university website (2nd screenshot)
- look how many review/affiliate sites completely dropped out of the top 100 (as indicated by the word "Lost" next to the URL) - 3rd screenshot
- Reddit and Quora of course entered into top positions this year. Only Quora ranked last year in position 36.
This same trend has taken place across many categories, not just education - with official brand/entity sites replacing the sites reviewing them (plus UGC, social, and forum sites in top positions).
The SEO landscape is DRAMATICALLY different year over year.
