Okay, I'll take you through the premises then.
Premise 1: Roman Catholic theology holds that the Roman Catholic church is the true church.
Premise 2: The Roman Catholic church mandates that you are obedient to it's eccumical councils.
Premise 3: The Council of Vatican 2 declares that salvation can be found outside the Roman Catholic church.
Conclusion: If you believe in Roman Catholic theology, you must believe that salvation can be found outside the Roman Catholic Church, or else you cannot be Catholic.
Please explain to me where I went wrong.
@alfreeburger I'm not sure that it is. A couple of bishops doesn't turn the whole Church. In my experience most parishes in the US are extremely theologically conservitave.
@AmosKissel I mean, the vernacular part is actually important, that's not really the problem. It's the protestanization of the liturgy I think I have a problem with
The Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. However for my RC bothers, it appears you now must make a choice.
1. Be a novus ordo attendee and lose the holiness (set apart from the world).
Or
2. Become SSPX and lose the oneness and the apostolic nature.
The Orthodox Church offers it all, it carries all four marks of The Church, not just two or three.
Those who now find themselves as schismatics should choose carefully.
