It’s easy for Elon Musk to say “vote Republican” because he doesn’t have to worry about Social Security, Medicare, the minimum wage being cut, or reproductive rights.
Without the major turnout of younger voters, we would have seen a very different outcome in last night's elections. But now I am asking the younger generations: continue to stay engaged in the struggle. We have an enormous amount of work ahead of us.
Many states don’t allow mail-in ballots to be counted before Election Day.
But many races can’t be called until mail-ins are counted, which can take over 24h.
This is normal, but some GOP are laying ground to claim any race not called tonight is suspicious. Don’t fall for it.
The people of Brazil have voted for democracy, workers’ rights and environmental sanity. I congratulate @LulaOficial on his hard fought victory and look forward to a strong and prosperous relationship between the United States and Brazil.
Or maybe a billionaire-fueled propaganda channel that regularly generates high volumes of death threats to elected officials while pumping propaganda for an extreme right-wing that openly embraces fascism is what’s creating “the environment where it happened”

No, Howard Schultz. When you fire 120 Starbucks union leaders, shut down pro-union shops & engage in union busting you do not "love" Starbucks workers. If you truly respected the workers at Starbucks, sit down with them and negotiate a fair first contract as the law requires.
Trickle down economics was invented by conservatives in the 1980s to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. It’s been nothing short of a disaster.
While over 60% of Americans now live paycheck to paycheck, three people own more wealth than the bottom half of American society. Got that? That's 1, 2, 3 people with more wealth than the bottom 165 million people.
OPEC's decision to cutback on production is a blatant attempt to increase gas prices at the pump that cannot stand. We must end OPEC's illegal price-fixing cartel, eliminate military assistance to Saudi Arabia, and move aggressively to renewable energy.
Corporations are using increasing costs – of materials, components and labor – as excuses to increase their prices even higher, resulting in bigger profits. This is why corporate profits are close to levels not seen in over half a century.
The UN Secretary-General is right: "The only true path to energy security, stable power prices, prosperity and a livable planet lies in abandoning polluting fossil fuels, especially coal, and accelerating the renewables-based energy transition." Defeat the Big Oil side deal.
It may be a radical idea to some of my Senate colleagues & in the editorial rooms of newspapers owned by Rupert Murdoch & Jeff Bezos, but I do believe the future of the planet is more important than the short term profits of the fossil fuel industry. Defeat the Big Oil side deal.
In another round of both-siderism, pundits and "analysts" keep calling what's happening in America "polarization" by the left and right. But that underplays the impacts and violent threats of right-wing radicalization, which has no counterpart on the left.
