🚨🎙️ | Youri Tielemans on Marcus Rashford:
“He was GREAT [at Aston Villa]. There had been so much talk about him, and bringing pressure and the media around him.
“But I thought he was just SO GOOD. He was very humble, he was just hard working, and from the first training you could tell his touch, his acceleration was just AMAZING.
“That was just what we needed at the time at Villa as well, so he did many good things in that time and hopefully he can bring them here.”
Watch Spain at 1-0 last night. That’s courage. That’s bravery. And then watch England at 1-0. What’s the difference?
We are a better team than Argentina, I’ve no doubt in my mind. But we deserved to get beat in the end. In fact, it could have been 4-1.
Bringing on 3 defenders at 1-0 up. What message does that send? I wrote it in my Daily Mail column after the Mexico game. Until we understand that courage and bravery is controlling possession under pressure and not booting / heading it up the field 40 yards then this will always be the end result.
1. Argentina were not creating much to warrant shifting to 5 at back
2. Tuchel even had time to ditch the disastrous idea of 5 at back as Argentina were creating chances even before the equaliser
All in all those are the worst in-game changes that you will see. Sold the match.
Straight after ENG scored they sat back and let ARG take over. They did the same in other Finals. This isn't lower club PL stuff. You need to keep that high mentality to play until it gets very late. ENG dropped immediately after the 55th minute.
