In our case this is playing out and daycare is a question of math. Tax payers are subsidizing $8k so my wife can return to work and she pays at least 2x on income tax.

@Tablesalt13 @MeMooMaMay The tax rebate varies by income and is capped at a fixed amount in Quebec at just below $12,000. In our case we get back the lowest refund possible which is $7 996,45 and we pay the daycare $15,992 so 50 percent.
