TRAVEL STORIES
On our flight from Addis Ababa 2 days ago, Zion and I sat next to a 26yrs old young Man from SUDAN called Abdul.
Abdul has been doing business since he was 16yrs old, since Sudan has been troubled, he buys electrics from Dubai and sells to different countries.
He said, I come to Uganda once every 2 months for one week holiday because it’s peaceful, people are really nice, I enjoy the food in Uganda.
And he is like since you guys have food, the population generally speaking doesn’t care about what matters, all this in not so good English.
He said for example Asians control 80% of electrics business , pharmaceutical supplies around same %age and I have never sat with a single Ugandan who cares about these topics.
He adds, if your focus is on less important things, you will never take time to learn from the Asians how that business is made and how you can also control a better part of the money.
He adds, if you don’t control things that make money, you become the visitors in your own country. You are the visitor, visitors don’t generally come with much and therefore don’t own much in the home.
He adds, you can’t control space you don’t fight for, eh. I was impressed by the young man and parted ways. I was challenged at the same time.
I wanted to tell him you guys make fun of me about the 2 planting seasons, some of you think am less brilliant one when I emphasize 2 planting seasons.

A Magical Face to Face Encounter with a Ugandan Leopard
One of the greatest moments of our journey! We enjoyed breathtaking views of this magnificent leopard as it relaxed and posed beautifully, giving us incredible photo and video angles for almost an hour. What an unforgettable wildlife experience!
Leopards are Uganda’s most elusive of the big cats, making sightings like this incredibly special. Their remarkable camouflage, silent movements, and solitary nature make every encounter a true privilege.
Captured during our @ugwildlife documentary content production in the wild heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The Magical of Ugandan Fruits Love in Tanzania 🇹🇿
A must Read 👇
During the Rwenzori Marathon activation at Kilimanjaro, we went the extra mile literally by carrying fresh Ugandan fruits all the way to Tanzania for the runners.
When @wekesa_amos called and asked me to source fruits from Kalerwe Market, I honestly wondered why we were transporting them over 900 kilometres, as if Tanzania didn’t have fruits of its own. It felt like a long journey for something we could easily find there.
But the moment of truth came after the race.
Watching runners refresh themselves with our fruits, seeing the smiles, and hearing Tanzanian locals praise their sweetness and freshness it all made sense.
Some even admitted that our fruits tasted better and fresher than what they were used to.
That’s when it hit me: Uganda truly is a regional food hub in East Africa.
These are the moments that remind us of the power of culture, taste, and identity. Let’s continue to push Uganda’s culinary tourism to the world.

Did you know…
there are only a few thousand adult shoebills left in the wild, and their numbers are declining.
Every stunning shot like this is a reminder their swamp homes need protection.
Protect wetlands and make this bird enjoy its habitat.
