Why are government SUDDENLY deciding that living on the streets and having no fixed abode is no longer a criminal offence?

Homelessness has been an unacceptable feature of our society since the time the act was introduced. No one cared to decriminalise this since 1824. When British people in extreme poverty were the targets.

Government have NOW decided to repeal? Call me cynical - but GOVT not having a clue what to do about unfathomably large numbers of illegal migrants and with local communities refusing them being housed in hostels etc, it seems an irresistible solution to a growing problem.

One the one hand, let's suppose Dr Erica and Dr Cass are independently both right; they care about the wellbeing of kids and genuinely believe there are a few (boys particularly) who are best medicated from puberty...

But what I do know is, I certainly would not like to be sitting in the House of Lords, complimenting this man, calling him "she" and suggesting my crucial paediatric report shares his perspective.
