Tasted the @LouisRoederer_ Starck Brut Nature Blanc 2018 ($120). If this champagne were a woman, below is what she'd look like (I used ai). Charm, elegance and luxurious refinement in a glass!
For my fellow champagne geeks out there: 55% Pinot Noir, 25% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay and touch of Pinot Blanc. 31% of the wines are vinified in oak. No malolactic fermentation. The dosage is 0 g/L.
Tasting Note: Fresh citrus and crisp green apple vibrancy, chiseled mineral edge with light toastiness with very fine tiny delicate persistent mousse. Reserved at first, but if you can keep it in your glass for even just a few minutes, the aromas really start to blossom.
Very elegant and refined way to ring in the New Year.
WOW, this #wine experience sounds amazing! 6L Imperial bottle, tour, tasting, AND lunch with winemaker at @PichonComtesse. And it supports the @mastersofwine. Talk about spreading some good cheer!

@winemag I so WANT to say terroir, but it's people. Proof? While a skilled chef can make a great dish with high quality ingredients (aka grapes from great terroir), a bad cook can make an awful dish using the same high quality ingredients.
This is a WAY cooler way of opening up wax sealed bottles! Talk about restaurant table side entertainment. Why was I not shown this option this before? I now feel cheated...🤣
GERMANY: EU regulators think it is too dangerous to simply break a bottle across the bow of a new ship, instead they insist on the use of this contraption. This is why the EU is failing. This is Economy Minister Habeck flailing.
Why is it that whenever I go to a wine region, my favorite pictures in my phone are always the ones of dirt/soil? This is a pic of soil samples at Louis Martini Winery in Napa Valley at the .@mastersofwine Stage 1 Seminar this week. While the connection of the taste of wine to soil is indirect, I still love the discussion around rocks, soil, aspect, altitude, etc.
Proving that age is just a number, Keith Prior recently passed his WSET Level 2 Award in Wines at the age of 92 - with merit, no less! Keith said, "Taking this course has encouraged me to try wines from countries outside of Europe. Thank you for this fresh outlook on life!"

@PiggyPrincessBB @PiggyPrincessBB Thank you! I LOVED making those 5 courses at @Wondrium / Great Courses. For a beginner book, I started w/ @KevinZraly Windows on the World Complete Wine Course Book. I still think it's one of the best!
