That being said, you can make Windows suck less.
(1) Version lock your machine in the registry.
(2) Only install security updates.
(3) Chris Titus debloat.
(4) StartAllBack for taskbar and start menu
(5) Komorebi if you like auto-tiling, fancy zones otherwise.
(6) WSL and Windows Terminal.
(7) AutoHotKey for powerful keybind scripting.
Yes, you have to fundamentally transform your OS, but once you do, it's actually a beautiful and elegant environment to work in.
also:
- Komorebi for tiling on Windows (didn’t expect to like this this much)
- GitHub Copilot helping me not write cursed Nix configs
this combo is lowkey unfair 😄
🚀 Want better window management on Windows?
komorebi is an open-source tiling window manager
It automatically arranges your windows
instead of moving them manually
Here’s what you get out of the box:
→ Automatic window tiling layouts
→ Workspaces and multi-monitor support
→ Keyboard-driven window control
→ Highly customizable via config
→ Integrates with tools like AutoHotkey
⚠️ Requires manual setup and some experience
Works on Windows

Trying out @temporalio for some stuff at Supabase
It makes building a true Continuous Deployment workflow - comparable to what FAANG have built in-house - with gradual global rollouts, metric-based validation and rollouts etc. incredibly easy
Wish I had this 10 years ago!
Some new nightly stuff added to the sponsors komorebi for Mac repo
I think things are looking on track to have a v0.1.1 release of komorebi for Mac next month!
I would love to see a study on why whenever I hit translate on Polish comments on this site it's usually the most incongruent racist slop from people who are still mad the Soviets defeated the Nazis 🙃
