Major champion Gary Woodland had brain surgery in 2023 to remove a tumor.
That tumor was pressing on the part of his brain that controls fear and anxiety.
A year ago, Woodland was diagnosed with PTSD that resulted from his surgery.
Earlier this month, he went public with his PTSD diagnosis to help himself and others.
Woodland is back in the winner's circle β€οΈ
Happy birthday today to Mike Ramsey, who appeared in 37 games for the 1984 #expos.
While in Montreal, he met Merle Yas and later married her. She was the daughter of baseball enthusiasts Mel and Shirley Yas.
I love this tribute for so many reasons. Thank you Canadiens for paying respects to such a great man. It was an honor to know Rodger. He will be dearly missed.
I'm so sad to hear this news. Rodger was a great guy and funny. He had an unmatched love for baseball and the @Montreal_Expos. I only had a few opportunities to spend time with him over the years, but every time was pure joy. I'm blessed to have known him.
2013 Jack Graney award winner passes away.
βRodger Brulotte was a broadcasting legend whose name was synonymous with the Montreal Expos and with baseball in Quebec. Over his more than four decades calling Expos and Toronto Blue Jays games, he developed into one of the most respected baseball broadcasters and analysts in our country's history. His passion for the game was evident in every call he made. We were proud to recognize him with our Jack Graney Award in 2013. Rodger was also a strong supporter of baseball at the grassroots level and a tireless advocate for Quebec players. He has left an indelible mark on baseball in Canada. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family."
