Three years ago the Alabama Baseball program was in a totally different spot than they are right now, in Omaha for the College World Series.
Former interim head coach, Jason Jackson, is now the associate head coach. Coach Rob Vaughn did not have a previous relationship with “JJ” yet still kept Jackson on the @AlabamaBSB coaching staff. Vaughn thoroughly described Jackson’s impact:
“[Jackson] trusted me in a time where that guy didn’t have to do that. He had some people calling to hire him that summer. He had just led the team through a great thing, there were some big time pitching coach jobs that were open wanting to talk to him and he chose Alabama.”
Rob Gronkowski says he lived off $50,000 as an NFL rookie because he understood the NFL meant "Not For Long"
"My agent gave me a $50,000 advance for what's going to come in the marketing world for myself. I just had to pay him back within the first $50,000 I made"
"I was able to purchase my first car, which was a 2008 Escalade, and then to be able to pay rent once I got to New England. And then from there on out, I really didn't need any other money"
"I was getting free meals at the facility. I just kind of needed gas money. You go out, the drinks are free or you pay for one, you get 10 free when you're when you're on the Patriots up in the Boston area"
"So I wasn't really spending much money at all, especially when it got to the season. I mean, you're inside that building and everything's handed to you on a daily basis from breakfast all the way to dinner"
"I just lived off my marketing dollars. I was living a low-level life. I had a condo with a roommate that was on the team as well. We're paying $1,500 a month in rent while in the NFL"
"I was very frugal and that's how I got away with it. Not having any lavish purchases, the first couple years in the league and just banking away what I was making because I truly understood that the NFL stands for not for long"
🚨 ABOLISH GOVT RENT: Governor DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) just dropped a Property Tax plan to ELIMINATE taxes on your primary home ("Homestead") in Florida!
Here’s the breakdown:
• Phase 1: Raise homestead exemption from $50k to $250,000
• Long-term goal: Completely eliminate property taxes on homesteaded primary residences
• Only applies to your primary home (where you actually live)
❌ No relief for rentals, investment properties, Airbnbs, or second homes
• Caps local government tax hikes
• Uses state funds to backfill local budgets
This is a HUGE win for Florida families getting crushed by rising costs and inflation.
To PASS it needs: Legislature → November ballot → 60% voter approval.
Florida voters - are you ready to kill the Property Tax on your home?
Other 49 Staters - would you support this plan in your State?
@RonDeSantis
The bottom line is for most millennials and Gen Z Americans—the next generation—homeownership is becoming out of reach. That’s a problem.
Addressing the runaway train called property tax is an important first step.
We should all thank @RonDeSantis for making this a priority.
DANA WHITE: “When you're a man, you are the provider. You are the one that that takes care of your family. You are the example for your kids when they grow up and your sons, and your daughters.
“You can't be that guy that I see posting on social media. Oh, I had a bad day, and I'm so sad, and all this other crazy shit.
“It’s just it's unattractive to other males, let alone women.”
