The U.S. Army has deployed several ground-based radar systems to the U.S-Mexico Border over the last few months, specifically the AN/MPQ-64 “Sentinel” Early-Warning Radar System and AN/TPQ-53 Quick Reaction Capability Radar, which are being used to assist U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Task Force - Southern Border and Homeland Security with the detection and tracking of unmanned aerial surveillance and parcel drones approaching positions along the border from Mexico. 

This specific radar, an AN/MPQ-64, is operated by the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 10th Mountain Division Artillery (DIVARTY), 10th Mountain Division, attached to Joint Task Force - Southern Border, located near the Rio Grande City in Texas.
