"But there exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom"
-Tocqueville
Canadians are not “misunderstanding” Bill C-22.
They are understanding it very clearly.
People are concerned because once governments force companies to create digital backdoors for “lawful access,” the door does not magically remain accessible only to the “good guys.”
Encryption protects:

* political dissidents
* victims of abuse
* and ordinary citizens
A vulnerability built for the state is still a vulnerability.
Canadians want safe communities.
But safety cannot come at the cost of building permanent surveillance infrastructure that future governments could abuse.
Freedom once surrendered is rarely fully returned.

Elon wants a line capable of producing 1M Optimus robots per year by 2027. Figure wants another 100,000 humanoids in the market by 2029. Unitree and the other Chinese firms might outproduce them both.
That’s exciting. But I’ll be disappointed if all these robots can do is fold laundry and move boxes around warehouses.
I want humanoids on construction sites.
I really want humanoid masons.
To get there, robotics labs need the right training data. And to capture that data, construction workers need the right equipment.

Erika Kirk: “While we may have big problems with illegal immigration in this country. I have to tell you, we have an even bigger problem when it comes to the systemic indoctrination and radicalization of our own citizens.”
It’s great to see @MayorOliviaChow championing practical AI use cases in cities.
We’ve been building in this space with Muni — helping municipalities triage resident requests, automate responses and guide users through series without adding workload to staff.
Would love to connect and share what we’ve seen in the field and what’s working across other cities.

Chow takes the lectern to talk about the AI projects: a rec planning project, a 311 virtual assistant, an IT assistant, and a building permit precheck project.
"The work reflects what's possible when technology supports — not replaces — the people who serve our city," she says

Yes. Let’s put the government in charge of standardizing design for urban development. What could go wrong? Governments are know for their attention to design, just think of all the awesome government websites you use.
Canada’s new government just released the Housing Design Catalogue.
It has 50 standardised housing designs that builders will use to streamline approvals, cut through red tape, and get millions more homes built, faster.
The thing that’s most shocking is the number of people still asleep. It’s hard to believe that there are still some Canadians who…
(a) completely oblivious to just how bad it’s become across all metrics. They can feel it but they still make excuses for it.
(b) still trust rather than verify anything the watch or read after the fiasco of Covid
It’s sad to watch the country deteriorate the way it has.
@Crypto_Mags Really depends on genre. The metal band has to be the Iron Curtain. Or they decide to go the funk route — then it’s the Supreme Leaders.
Either way, chart toppers.
