#POPMUSS21 I feel that schlock rock carries less merit and value. Schlock rock was obviously changed to target their white audience. In saying that, in the 1950's and 60's this occurred frequently so it is very hard to disregard the popularity of many of these songs

@GillianRead I agree! Ray charles was a very unique singer, especially during his time. Today's music is very hard to compare to Charles as like you stated, we don't know what is actually genuine and what is auto tuned. Auto tuned songs don't have the same emotion either. #POPMUSS21

#POPMUSS21 Ray charles sings with a breaking voice to show emotion and to show how connected he is with the song. It signifies genuine talent and heart towards his music. A lot of pride and his emotions shows how much he loves doing what he does.

@JordanN54312489 I agree with you as well, my views of people haven't changed based on their music preference but going off of what jenna stated, many people still associate different genres of music with different personalities and even race. Much like they did in the 1800's and 1900's.

@DarcyL20 I could not agree more. Before I had Bluetooth headphones I just lived my daily routine without music but now, listening to music has become a major part of my daily routine and I really miss it when I forget my headphones.

#POPMUSS21 We can listen to music virtually anywhere. I find listening to my music whenever I want can really give me motivation say when I'm at the gym or just having a hard day. Music has become a huge part of my social life as I can listen to spotify whenever I wish to.

#POPMUSS21 Everything is "dumb-down" to an extent because if it wasn't then only experts would understand it. In saying that,the term simplified to meet what is popular is a better fit when talking about music. Why make music that the public are not interested in listening to?

@EthanBe50546298 @GillianRead I agree with you 100%. Artist got to produce what fans want and are interested in. But a big thing is an artist got to be proud of their work. Many artist produce original ideas everytime and maybe not get the attention it deserves but that's their choice. #POPMUSS21
