BREAKING: The US saw 372 large-company bankruptcies in the first 6 months of the 2026, the highest first half total in 16 years.
This marks the 4th consecutive YoY increase for this period of the year.
This also surpassed the full-year total for 2022, when 317 firms went bankrupt.
Both May and June recorded 72 filings, the 3rd-highest monthly total since July 2020.
Industrial companies led with 50 filings year-to-date, followed by 35 in consumer discretionary, and 26 in healthcare.
Corporate bankruptcies are accelerating.
David Sacks: Everything Kathy Hochul Said About Datacenters Was a False Accusation
@DavidSacks: “These data centers become the scapegoat for all of the angst that people have about AI.
Everything she's saying there is a false accusation on datacenters. So let's just go one by one.”
POWER:
So she's saying that they eat up all of the power. Well, yeah, if you connect to the grid without producing more power and you force datacenters to compete with residential ratepayers, then yeah, you could drive up utility prices.
However, if you do what Chamath said and let them build behind the meter, then they bring their own power. And that's what the president has advocated for since the beginning of his administration, is let the AI companies become power companies.
So that is the way to solve the energy problem or the utility problem.
LAND:
Then, she's talking about eating up land. The reality is these datacenters are a model of land use efficiency.
We have a ton of land in this country, obviously.
NOISE POLLUTION:
The supposed noise pollution, that's largely made up. That can be dealt with.
You obviously don't want to put these things right next to a residential area, but create a little bit of distance, and it's fine.
WATER CONSUMPTION:
The whole water consumption thing is largely a hoax.
Modern datacenters recirculate the water.
AIR POLLUTION:
One final thing just on the point that Hochul is making. She said it created a lot of pollution.
Natural gas, which is how most of these data centers are powered, is one of the most clean burning sources of power that we have.
“When you compare economic impact to all these different things, datacenters are honestly one of the best things we could be building as a nation.”
🚨 JUST IN: Nick Shirley MIC DROPS NY Gov. Kathy Hochul's office for attacking HIM over exposing childcare fraud, and an adult daycare claiming to have over 7,000 patients in ONE BUILDING 🤯
SHIRLEY: "Nobody ever LOOKED! [...] It's super funny that they had attacked the person who's exposed the fraud versus trying to support him!"
"And that happened actually when I exposed them in a soda fraud, and they had just given $2 billion to 2-year-olds."
"They have all these weird initiatives, especially when we see all this frauds that you can place inside these welfare programs, but then they continue to give even more money to them instead of cracking down on the fraud. They actually ask us for more money to fuel the fraud!"
Democrats = party of fraud

@engineers_feed Kinetic energy being equal to half mass times velocity squared (the general case of the relativity equation) is an insanely big deal in everyday life.
That and the surface to volume ratio explain so much about our reality!
7 equations every engineer should understand, not just know:
1. F = ma (Newton's Second Law)
Force = mass × acceleration.
Everything that moves or is prevented from moving obeys this. Every structural load, every vehicle dynamics problem, every rocket trajectory.
2. σ = F/A (Stress)
Stress = force ÷ area.
How concentrated a force is. A small force on a tiny area can be catastrophic. A huge force spread across enough area is manageable. This is why needles pierce and snowshoes don't sink.
3. Q = mcΔT (Heat transfer, sensible heat)
Heat energy = mass × specific heat capacity × temperature change.
How much energy it takes to heat or cool something. Every thermal system, every HVAC calculation, every cooling loop.
4. P = IV (Electrical power)
Power = current × voltage.
Why high-voltage transmission lines lose less energy than low-voltage ones. Why your phone charger gets warm. Every electrical system.
5. PV = nRT (Ideal Gas Law)
Pressure × volume = moles × gas constant × temperature.
How gases behave. Every engine, compressor, pneumatic system, and pressurised vessel.
6. ΔS ≥ 0 (Second Law of Thermodynamics)
Entropy of a closed system never decreases.
Why you can't build a perpetual motion machine. Why every energy conversion produces waste heat. Why engineering is fundamentally about managing irreversibility.
7. E = mc² (Mass-energy equivalence)
Energy = mass × speed of light².
The basis of nuclear engineering. Why a tiny amount of mass releases enormous energy. The equation that explains why uranium powers submarines for 25 years.
You don't need to solve these every day.
You need to feel them, to know when a system is violating one of them.
That's engineering intuition.
The Federal Reserve CONFIRMS: U.S. NGOs have combined assets totaling $14.2 trillion—excluding the $2 billion awarded to Stacey Abrams’ NGO, which basically didn’t exist.
This is: U.S. Representative Tim Burchett, DOGE Chairman, dropping a truth bomb. 🔥🔥
Where did all of your tax dollars go?
“I guarantee you it goes from the American taxpayer’s back pocket to the back pocket of politicians in Washington, D.C.
And if it’s either party, I don’t care—they need to be exposed, and they need to be out of office.”
.@NYCMayor Mamdani’s appointed advisory commission is recommending an 18.2% raise for himself and other elected officials purportedly because of inflation, yet his self-appointed Rent Guidelines Board — which is supposed to consider inflation in setting rents— froze rents for two years.
A question for the mayor:
How is this fair or appropriate?
🚨SPX Long-Range Outlook: 7,000 - The Event Horizon-3200 the culminating target
The S&P 500 (SPX) sits at a critical technical inflection point.
The 7,000 level stands out as the event horizon a major psychological and structural milestone a few hundred points below.
Price action developing outside the lengthy ascending channel tells a more cautious story.
A rising wedge has formed in recent months, while an even more immediate diamond top pattern has taken shape (circled in purple).
These structures are appearing against the backdrop of a mature uptrend and are typically associated with distribution and reversal risk. While select few factors could still support limited continuation, a growing number of technical elements are aligned against sustained upside momentum and instead favour the potential for a significant drawdown.
We await the market’s resolution with heightened interest.
Yours truly,
The Great Martis.✨
It never got me a better grade on an exam, a free ride on the train, a job offer, or a date, nor should it, but I’m proud of my grandfather’s great great great grandfather - Carter Braxton - who stood up to tyranny, put his life on the line and risked everything for independence.
America's 250th birthday celebration is already lighting up the sky.
A stunning air show featuring 2,500 drones transformed the night over North Richland Hills, Texas, with massive images of a rocket, a bald eagle, and George Washington.
The patriotic display, created by Sky Elements Drone Shows, gave local families an early look at the celebrations leading up to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
