Two bosses live inside every manager's head
1️⃣ The bad boss is governed by fear, scarcity, and a need for control.
2️⃣ The great boss is led by faith, courage, and a willingness to let go.
The Bad Boss wants employees to:
→ Get small and infrequent pay increases
→ Be micromanaged
→ Be heavy on the WORK in work/life balance
→ Never look for other jobs
→ Not share ideas that cost the company money
The Great Boss knows employees:
→ Will leave the company someday
→ Should be provided growth opportunities
→ Should earn consistent wage increases
→ Need responsibility, trust, and development opportunities
→ Work so they can live, not the other way around
Every single business owner/leader/manager has these two bosses inside of them.
Be intentional about which one shows up to work each day.
@JoeBooh I agree long term, but for first time home buyers in their mid 20s…. I’d rather have people spend their money towards something they own and feel a sense of ownership vs feeling a sense of hopelessness. Idk people make bad money decisions in all stages of life.
The Colorado Rockies "Emergency Open Tryouts" announcement is likely not real. It seems to be a satirical post poking fun at the team's 6-33 record in 2025, the worst 39-game start in NL history. The requirements, like throwing 45 mph, are far below MLB standards, and the humorous tone suggests a joke. No official sources, like the Rockies' website or MLB, confirm such tryouts. MLB teams typically scout talent, not hold mid-season open tryouts. While a struggling team might try new ideas, this event is impractical and likely just a humorous take on their tough season.
Comparison to others is the thief of joy.
It’s easy to look at others’ success and feel like you’re falling behind. But the best person to compare yourself to?
Your past self.
Having mentors and role models is inspiring, but it can also create a false sense of inadequacy. Instead, ask yourself:
If you met your younger self, maybe the version of you in college or your first job, would they look up to you the way you look up to your idols?
For many of us, the answer is yes.
‣ If you're a recent grad still searching for a job, watching classmates post their career wins, remember how proud "younger you" would be just to have made it across that graduation stage.
‣ If you’re a new business owner whose company is growing slower than expected, think about how much courage it took for you to even start.
‣ If you're in middle management, wishing you were on the executive team, don’t forget how hard you worked to become a leader in the first place.
Goals and dreams matter, but so does recognizing how far you’ve come.
At one point, you dreamed of being where you are now. Don’t forget to appreciate it.
Below are a few photos from past versions of myself who would be proud of the current version.

You are in a state of constant design of your future self.
What you choose to do today, how you decide to behave today, who you choose to be with today…
All add to the version of you that you’ll see in the mirror 10 years from now.
