There are voices that don’t just speak, they move. They carry weight, not by volume, but by conviction.
Listening to H.E. @SingoeiAKorir, Kenya’s Principal Secretary for State Department of Foreign Affairs, take the floor during this high-level IGAD session stirred something I’ve often felt but rarely had words for, a deep yearning to one day speak for my country and region with the same clarity, courage, and care.
He spoke not just as a diplomat, but as a custodian of regional peace, of Kenya’s voice in the world, and of Africa’s evolving place on the global stage.
And as he laid out Kenya’s vision for diplomacy, cooperation and integration in the Horn, I couldn’t help but recall the first time I heard him speak, during the IGAD Media Awards last year.
That moment etched itself in memory, as last week’s words breathed new life into it.
His ability to thread policy, principle, and purpose into one seamless message has always left me inspired.
But more than his brilliance, it’s his consistency that teaches me something greater, that leadership is not in the spotlight, but in how one carries the weight of representation when no one is clapping.
To admire from a distance is one thing. To learn, observe, and be reminded of what is possible is something else entirely.
I am grateful to witness his work up close, to see a Kenyan voice stand tall in regional forums, never wavering in defence of justice, sovereignty, and cooperation.
One day, I hope to represent Kenya, our region and Africa with such conviction. One day, I hope to stand at a podium, not only well-read but well-rooted, in service, in values, and in vision.
Thank you, Dr. @SingoeiAKorir, for inspiring a generation by showing that diplomacy doesn’t have to be dry. It can be powerful. Poised. Principled.
A photo opportunity with you maybe?
Not just to capture the moment, but to remember the responsibility that comes with it.
Thank you for your service, Daktari.

In his more than 50-year public career, former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made a huge impact on global affairs and humanity.
During his tenure at the UN, he mobilised the world to confront global challenges ranging from the climate crisis and global health to gender inequality.
We therefore celebrate His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, an extraordinary leader who built bridges, reformed the UN, gave voice to the voiceless and fostered progress towards shared goals.
Honoured His Excellency Ban Ki-moon with Kenya's highest honours, First Class: Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H.), State House, Nairobi.
Held fruitful bilateral discussions with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales this morning, anchored in our shared commitment to mutual progress and prosperity for our two countries, while addressing pressing regional and global challenges.
We are committed to deepening this cooperation for the shared prosperity of our people, building a sustainable future, and delivering tangible benefits for both our nations and the planet.
Changes in the Senior Ranks of the millitary reflects the President’s vision to ensure the senior ranks of KDF reflect ths national talent pool.
Presidential actions which continue to detribalize the state most welcome. KBB.
KENYANS: How does it help any of us if some of us loot supermarkets, vandalize ATMs, burn official/private vehicles, and torch police stations in the name of protests? This is how anarchy engulfs nations. You are playing with fire, and won’t have a country if this continues.
Thank you for the statement. Democratic protest must be protected but any weaponization of protests to achieve extra constitutional objectives must be met with strong condemnation. Kenya’s stability is paramount. @CanHCKenya
Launched in September 2023, the Vihiga Affordable Housing Project is redefining the landscape of Majengo.
Rising from what was once an informal settlement, the development now stands at 88% complete.
On site, finishing works are in full gear, ranging from the casting of the retaining wall and civil installations, to electrical wiring, plumbing, mechanical fittings, painting and the welding of doors and windows.
Excavation of the septic tank is also ongoing, ensuring the project meets both functional and environmental standards.
The project features 9 blocks housing a total of 220 modern units:
1 bedsitter block with 60 units; 1 block of 20 one-bedroom units; 5 blocks offering 100 two-bedroom units; and 2 blocks with 40 spacious three-bedroom units.
With 220 workers, most of them local youth and women, the project is a powerful engine for employment, skills development and economic empowerment.
Young people are gaining hands-on training in construction, electrical work, welding and finishing, equipping them with trades that extend far beyond the project site.
Once complete, the project will stimulate economic activity, decongest informal settlements and enhance urban order in Vihiga Constituency, in line with the housing program outlined in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
I commend the legal empowerment work of @GlobalNamati including with the Nubians, a community I served before my current work in government.
