@maximumpain333 Exactly.
But how can an eternally becoming, impermanent being sustain one state or mindset?
The flower doesn’t pause after a perfect bloom, the sky doesn’t freeze on the perfect sunset.
We must continue becoming, which implies moving on from enlightenment once it’s found.
“reunite the ego with the self”
That’s it. Awareness of or observing that the mind/ego and self/being are different from each other.
Seeing ego is not evil but perhaps has been giving too much weight to the mind/programming (survival, rewards, social status or whatever) and not enough to the being.
Society, corporations, governments, etc. prefer predictability. But we are each 1 of 1, uniquely formed by every input - every observation, every thought, experience, feeling.
So the mind, the programmable mind, and the ego have put a leash on the being. The egotistical, materialistic, production/growth society (just what it is) has revealed its product.
Something like that. Similar to what the triangle @TheCodexDelta said: we have become algorithms. Or what @VelumKai said: the latch was on the inside.
I can see that perspective anyway. And it’s all just perspective, but that’s the whole point. An indefinitely becoming 1 of 1.
Just raw thoughts but grateful for you sparking them.
Love reading through the comments on your posts.
Just shower thoughts, but:
I’ve come to understand that we are a relationship of things and inputs/experiences. A flower projects as a flower but is the relationship between the sun, water, soil, etc.
The flower experiences growth - which direction, how tall, when - but it’s the relationship that orchestrates or dictates it.
Perhaps there is a lesson there in how man experiences life as well.
Hard to tell.
@bryan_johnson We are forever becoming, @bryan_johnson. Nothing in the universe is permanent.
To cling to an identity of who you were is to mute who you are or who you’ve become.
When the flower blooms, it doesn’t reference what it looked like yesterday.
Live, my friend.
“wrong” holds the weight in your sentence.
Children die, homes are destroyed, people starve. These things are incredibly painful, but are what make life life. To judge events as wrong or bad is to attach one’s opinion to them.
I believe this is going to hurt,
but life’s lessons are often not free.
We just don’t realize the cost until the bill comes.
“To get there, we must first be here.”
🤷🏻♂️
@mindfulheal The mind, at times, can be one’s worst enemy, preventing such a being from being.
May such a person never feel they must hide themselves from the world.
