On this same day in 1987, we lost a great leader & gem who many are trying to adulterate now. From his glasses to his cap but they can't seem to emulate his strides, candor & perspicacity. The first & only premier of the Yoruba clan Chief Obafemi Jeremiah Oyeniyi Awolowo GCFR.
Nigeria is short roughly 28 million homes.
Not 28 thousand. Twenty-eight million.
Enough missing housing to shelter more people than the entire populations of Ghana and South Africa combined.
The country builds about 100,000 homes a year.
It needs 800,000.
And even if the homes existed, most people could not buy them. Mortgage rates run from 20 to 32 percent, and home loans are barely 1 percent of the economy.
Here is the way to see it.
A shortage this large is not only a crisis. It is one of the biggest business opportunities on the continent.
Affordable housing. Cheaper building methods. Honest mortgage finance.
Whoever cracks how to build well and cheaply for the many, instead of luxury towers for the few, will make a fortune and house a nation at the same time.

🚨Breaking: This 1-hour MIT lecture on Probability Theory might teach you more about prediction markets than a 2-month quant internship.
Most people will skip it.
And that’s exactly why they’ll stay confused about how uncertainty actually works.
It’s not just math it’s a way of thinking. A framework for making better decisions when outcomes aren’t guaranteed.
Watching it feels like unlocking a new lens.
The biggest insight? Prediction isn’t about certainty it’s about probabilities. The best thinkers don’t guess outcomes, they assign likelihoods and update them as new information comes in.
It also shows why most people get decisions wrong. They rely on intuition, ignore base rates, and overreact to noise instead of signals.
And that’s the real edge. Not complex models but clear thinking under uncertainty.
That’s why this MIT lecture is worth your time.
Because while most people chase shortcuts…
A few will understand the system behind every prediction.
Bookmark this & give it 1 hour today, no matter what. It’s the most productive start you can give your week.
Instead of watching an hour of Netflix, watch this 2-hour Stanford lecture on AI careers. It will teach you more about winning in the AI race than all the AI content you’ve scrolled past this year.
