@joncoopertweets Yeah, but I'd like it if different institutions had specific places their taxes went. Like a church's tax would go towards helping the poor/needy, etc etc. This means that those services are state run, rather than institution run, meaning we won't have their discrimination.
It's dumb that Canada, the place I grew up in, has less taxes, and I get more back from those taxes than I do here in the US. My taxes actually went to improving the city and the country. Here they just go seemingly nowhere.
Honestly the American -people- should be voting for things like RvW, not SCOTUS who clearly doesn't have the people's concerns and health in mind. Hell, if they had the people's health in mind you'd see more progress towards universal healthcare.
Land of the free and land of policing bodies.
Also, reminder, that 'fines' are just 'it's only illegal for poor people,' the people more likely to get abortions in the first place.
@chrdano@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite Google has -many- studies if you google "detransition study"
The average % of those who detransition due to internal factors exclusively is about 0.5%
Some of which have upwards of 20,000 respondents. If multiple studies show the same math, there's nothing bogus about it.
@chrdano@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite -Nothing is a monolith, the Floyd case, case-by-case, was bad. That's why people got mad. Nothing should be generalized.
-Each person in that study case-by-case claimed it was for their betterment. No abuse was done. 16 instances of betterment.
Stop generalizing life.
@chrdano@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite -If it's supported by their doctors, and their parents, and them, and they had psyche evals, I think it's fine. It's not like they decided alone
-Sure, but they make up about 0.5% of ALL trans people. Their stories are valid, but they should never be weaponized like they are.
@chrdano@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite Everything should be case-by-case. Everything. I don't look at anything as a monolith. If one kid is raped, that's tragic. But it's one case, and should be looked at isolated.
@InternetChief_@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite -Look it up? The internet exists. It's a complicated subject. Hence why it's taught.
-My man you really are stupid if you think that awareness of mental health making more people aware of their mental health is a group trend. And you can't just change someone's sexuality lol.
@chrdano@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite Nope.
I would say 16 is the consenting age.
16 people in that study were under 16 for their surgery. Not really much to get angry about. Studies need these outlier individuals to have efficacy. 68/68 who had a surgery reported it as a benefit to their life so there's no loss.
@InternetChief_@PresidentAveaux@Torque_Bow_@blairewhite -They are not teaching children about gender fluidity, they are teaching them about gender as a concept fullstop.
-Children's personalities/gender expressions don't just change because they learned that gender is a thing. No one's being manipulated by education.
