You don't get to disrespect an entire city, hide behind an apology when the backlash hits, and expect everyone to move on. Nairobi isn't your playground, and Kenyans aren't obligated to accept your PR damage control. You said what you said, now own it. An apology doesn't erase arrogance; it only proves you finally realized your words have consequences.
When exactly will Americans stop treating Africa like their personal toilet, assuming they can dump their ignorance, arrogance, and superiority complex on an entire continent and expect us to take it? Who convinced you that being American makes you the standard by which the rest of humanity should be judged? Check on that attitude.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT TO @NEWSMAX
RE: DEMAND FOR A PUBLIC, TELEVISED APOLOGY FROM @RobFinnertyUSA OVER HIS CARELESS REMARKS ON NAIROBI
We demand that Newsmax take responsibility for the remarks made by Rob Finnerty concerning Nairobi and issue a formal, public apology to the people of Kenya.
Nairobi is not merely a name on a map. It is the capital of a sovereign Continent of Africa, a home to millions of people, a major African economic hub, and a city whose dignity deserves the same or More respect as any other major city in the world.
Freedom of expression does not exempt your incompetent staff and media organisations from accountability for remarks that demean, disrespect and or unfairly disparage other people and their communities.
Our demand is clear and non-negotiable:
1. Rob Finnerty must issue a public, televised apology on Newsmax, addressing his remarks about Nairobi.
2. The apology must be delivered with the Kenyan national flag clearly displayed in the background, as a direct gesture of respect for Kenya and its people.
3. The apology must be sincere, unambiguous, and broadcast publicly on the same platform through which the remarks reached the audience.
4. The Your Staff Must Be Wearing a Kenyan bracelet and a Kenyan Jersey failure to which we demand his resignation with immediate effect.
No private apology, written statement, social media post, or indirect expression of regret will be acceptable.
We expect Newsmax to recognise the seriousness of this matter and respond with the respect and accountability that the people of Kenya deserve.
Kenya is a sovereign nation, and Nairobi deserves to be treated with dignity. Our national pride is not negotiable, and neither is our demand for a public apology in a setting that visibly recognises the Kenyan nation.
We demand nothing less than a public, televised apology, with the Kenyan flag displayed in the background.
Respect Kenya. Respect Nairobi. Take responsibility.

I want to offer an apology to the people of Nairobi, Kenya. The passion you have your city and homeland is amazingโฆ We all make mistakes. I misspoke, and I am sorry to anyone I have offended.๐
@RobFinnertyUSA We want you to come to Nairobi at a place called archives with public speaking instruments and offer your apologies from there, after that we will take you to meet mbavu the destroyer..
@WaihigaMwaura Let me finish milking buffalo first, then see if there's little energy left to deal with this new assignment.
