Dear Employers. Please do not ask me to follow your social media in the same automated email in which you reject me for a job. I am just not that into you now. Said Every Candidate Ever.
At the end of an interview last Friday, HR lady asked me to provide some days/times for a followup interview with the actual department head this week. Now I have been ghosted. No followup was ever scheduled. WTF? Have some humanity. #fail#HR#jobs
Also, don't post on a national job board if you are not considering people from you know, the nation. "Must currently reside in either Atlanta or San Francisco metropolitan areas; relocation is not being considered for this role." #smh#HR#fail
Can we just all admit that resume parsing does not work? Today, my resume was parsed out of order. I mean c'mon. You don't need everything twice anyway. #HR#fail#jobs
OMG. After uploading my resume and re-typing my work history into little boxes, I had to answer questions including "What skills do you possess that make you ideal for this role?". WTF was my resume, cover letter and application for? You just can't make this up.
Again. Louder for hiring managers in the back. A dropdown menu on a job application is not okay. Because it will never capture everyone's experiences, university, location, kind of degree. #hiring#fail
Message after applying. No one expects a call back, but you can send an automated email. It is literally the least you can do. #HR#jobs#fail
"XY receives a large number of inquiries for positions and unfortunately, we can not give everyone a call back with a status update."
I know I should think of this as an opportunity but geez, I just spent a long time on my cover letter and now you want more: *Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or questions you have for us you would like to discuss in an interview?*
After I submitted my resume, then re-entered everything in the application (omg, this has to stop) the very next box was this. You have my resume two ways, now you want my experience again? WTF.
I uploaded my resume which is immediately followed by this:
Briefly summarize your relevant education/experience, up to and including your current position/responsibilities (you may attach a separate sheet or updated resume).
WTF? What do you think a resume is. Omg. #fail
For the billionth time. When you have a drop down menu in a job application, you are never going to catch everyone's experience, including my degree which rarely appears in any drop down menu. #fails#HR@Workday
