Texas Wild Cards began as a fort, a Texas-sized house-of-cards, inspired by native Texas wildlife.

Delight in the adventure.
That's $7500 in services per person per year...
or $625 in services per person per month.
Just a few questions that come to mind:
What sort of support services justify this cost?
How many support specialists are employed here?
What are the improvement in outcomes?
Austin Nonprofit Contract of the day
$900k for support services at the ~120 person balcones terrace appartments.
It could be a very good program, but again to the FOIA topic earlier in the day , there is no way for journalists to get info about this to see how many people it helps, what the outcomes are etc etc , and the city is not reporting much on this
@data_atx It's just kind of weird to watch people eat anyways. I know, we all eat. Maybe that's their point? We can relate at the lowest common denominator?
We are now in June, Austin city council voted on a policy in January requiring council office card purchases to be reported quarterly
None have been reported yet, did this fall through the cracks @KirkPWatson ?
Very sad stat that the city audit department produced last month: 40% of Austin's pedestrian deaths involve homeless people
This is another reason why allowing camping ( especially near highways and roads ) is not humane!
Austin, we need some clear headed citizens to step up and run for these AISD Board seats.
If you can balance a checkbook, understand what skills *should* be taught in schools, and care about the next generation - here's a chance to spend 4 years doing some real good for Austin.

I spend a lot of time reading local Austin news - journalism, editorials, newsletters, press releases... whatever I can get my hands on.
I've built a webpage to start archiving all the information that I come across. Find it at https://t.co/kAuqQrNmWu
This is just the start. I have hundreds more documents in my queue which I'll be adding in the coming days and weeks.
Let me know if you have feedback or if there's a publication that I should be subscribed to!
My hope for this news archive is that it will make it easier for all of us to find that bit of news that we want to share with someone else.
It's too much for anyone to read all the local news daily, especially when most of what's published is drivel. But fortunately there are some journalists scattered between our various outlets who are doing really good work.
@JosieBedlam Great suggestion.
The search will pick up on keywords in the summaries, but not all the council members quoted in the news make it into the summary. Otherwise I'll need to add those into the topic labels.
