I feel and believe I can celebrate and respect your choices and blessings with your child, while I also respect this other family’s deeply difficult decision to weigh the risks, their capacities, their limitations, as well as the reality of the serious physical, neurological, cardiac, and other genetic challenges and effects their doctors informed them of. I personally never would have chosen an abortion, but I also would not force or legally require another woman to carry a high risk pregnancy they were not prepared or willing for.

So, to begin, do you agree that placing your hands on her multiple times and grabbing her shoulder and head with both your arms and hands is assault?
Medea was very generous to not react defensively or protectively, with your physical contacts.
Or, can and do we agree she clearly understood your intent, knew you did not mean to hurt her, and so she graciously understood and did not react to your physical contacts?

Secondly, yes, free and fair elections, but the US should not be the arbiter of that. A Cuban domestically and internationally recognized, independent, and fully respected body should be the arbiter.

Thirdly, socialized infrastructure and systems are not communism. Canada and many European countries have hybrid socialist-capitalist economic and social policies and systems.

Fourth, and lastly, if you are unwilling to honestly acknowledge the needed truth and needed accountability on both sides of the decades long political conflict and power imbalance between the two sides, including the devastation and damage that the US interference, sanctions, and sabotage, covert and overt, has done to significantly harm and destabilize the people and country of Cuba - then you are a dishonest and untrustworthy spokesperson.

Autonomy and sovereignty must be respected and prioritized. Stability, security, and human rights are also priorities.

It’s eye-opening and shocking, how many humans are willing to poison their own entire cellular body, mind, and soul, to spew such bile and venom at another human.

It’s all about relationships.

Relationships may weigh us down sometimes, with duty, weight, multi-tasking, exhaustion - but, they also give back to us. If we pause, and stay still for a moment, we may feel the rush of the goodness, the gift, and the joy, in the moments of relationship.
