Bodie Boydstun
Pride of OBA, Class B powerhouse in the Enid area! Was the QB for the Trojans, ran the ball a lot, and made most of the tackles as well.
It's VERY hard to get recruited as a High School player in this transfer portal era. That difficulty level goes to the moon when you come from an 8-man level, which OBA was.
Of course, we remember Stacy Satterwhite, who came from Welch, Josh Brown was a kicker from Foyil, and Wes Swinford came from Morrison, but it was rare back then, MUCH more rare now with the transfer portal.
So, it's no surprise a player like Boydstun ended up at a lower level, DII in this case, because opportunities are limited, so he's had to work his way up.
And, he has...Welcome to OSU Bodie!
When I think of him, the first thing that comes to my head was Billy Bajema. Bajema was a qb in HS turned TE, and we know how that ended.
Excellent hands, "I'm gonna Kick Your Ass" toughness and grit, excellent blocker, big and physical dude. And, I promise you, this dude will post EVERY day, NO ONE will outwork him, he'll bring elite consistency and accountability to the work process, and a competitive streak a mile wide.
These kinds of guys were MADE for OSU, and almost always find a way to carve out a role and make an impact in any way possible.
Congrats to the staff for reaching down to the DII level and plucking this dude, they won't be sorry! #gopokes #okstate
This young man has committed to playing tight end for the OSU Cowboys.
Going from a very successful career playing 8-man football at OBA to a walk-on turned scholarship player at SWOSU is a testament to his grit. 🏈
Go work hard & earn your spot. @BodieBoydstun#OkState#CowboyUp
#OKState has picked up a tight end commitment in Bodie Boydstun from Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Division II tight end earned second team All-Greater American Conference honors for his 191-yard, three-touchdown season.
