Good morning peeps❤️ Wishing you a happy weekend! May the days bring you a bounty of beautiful beginnings with love, peace and joy… Appreciate every moment, you never know when it’s the last one… One second, one act…Everything can change suddenly and forever…Keep that in mind
One of the absolute highlights of our 2023 was being able to travel to Cape Town to attend the #SAPICS Annual Conference. I met so many extraordinary leaders - - and was also able to connect with some of my long-time friends & network colleagues. I believe there were supply chain leaders in attendance from more than 30 countries. Big thanks to my friend Jenny Froome (@jennyfroome) for being such a wonderful host. And also to Ken Titmuss, who personally showed me & Amanda Luton around Cape Town for a day.
We can't make it in person this year, but the Supply Chain Now team will certainly be there in spirit. But check out the link below in the comments for more info on this year's event (coming up soon!).
Speaking of supply chain brilliance in #Africa, the SCN team is pleased to continue our long-running series that highlights supply chain leaders & topics related to countries across Africa. ICYMI, here are a couple of recent episodes:
🌍 In this episode, I host a fascinating conversation focused on "Drones & #Healthcare Logistics", featuring Prashant Yadav with INSEAD & Olivier Defawe Ph.D. with @VillageReach . https://t.co/cezZL9sRmc
🌍 One of our last conversations, Mary Kate Love (@mklove2) & I hosted MJ Schoemaker, President of @SAPICS01 & Jacques De Villiers with Omnia Holdings for an enlightening conversation that touches on a variety of #supplychain & #leadership topics: https://t.co/DHvfy4yZ5a
You can find these episodes and all of our SCN programming on YouTube or wherever else you get your #podcasts. Here's a convenient link to help: https://t.co/xR9PJztGpJ
But speaking of last year, one of my FAVORITE conversations was with the powerful dynamo that is Azuka Okeke (@zukynokeke), CEO at Africa Resource Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Management, who shared this quote:
"Having a strategy is fundamental, but implementing strategy is the key. So being able to walk with Nigeria to move from document to action with measurable impact - - that is one thing we've done. And I can sleep tomorrow and say WHEW! It's not all been talk. It's been action!"
YES Azuka! Deeds, not words. That's what we do. I'm so grateful to have been able to spend some time with you and so many others last year. Folks, you can check out a brief 2023 highlight reel: https://t.co/a5z6mEKOkL
One last, separate note: I spent some time w/ my friend Kyle Garcia, CPIM, recently for an upcoming EasyPost event. (BTW: Kyle, I had to break out one of my all-time favs: the adidas 3-stripe. 😎 )
More importantly, one of many incredible insights that Kyle shared with me in our conversation: he spoke about how proud he is to work with a bunch of exceptional people across global supply chain, especially through the pandemic. Kyle was so inspired by how the human factor powered through any challenge presented. And then he said that in supply chain: "We are the do-ers." ❤️ Kyle, keep on making Mazzy proud.
Folks - my cup is full this week. Full of #GoodNews indeed. #DoGood.
